Newegg 48 hour Early Bird Specials: Castlevania: Lords of Shadow (360) $9.99

fuck, I don't want to skip out on Castlevania at that price. But Black Friday is coming up, and I already know I'm not gonna have enough as it is. ;_;

Castlevania Lords of Shadow was the best game in 2010 in my opinion with Red Dead Redemption a close second.

I totally agree, I bought Castlevania on release day and felt more than satisfied, it is a great game and for $10 anyone remotely interested should pick it up. I have not tried the DLC because I hear it is a rip off, but I am very much looking forward to the sequel and the new 3ds spinoff next year...

especially for those who enjoy god of war and are looking for that kind of gameplay on the 360, I have not found it often outside of this game and dante's inferno... personally Castlevania was head and shoulders better than that
I'm still waiting on $10 Castlevania for PS3 :(
Same. I mean almost every time Castlevania goes on sale its the 360 version only or 360 version for $10 cheaper.

Vesperia and SO4 are two of my favorite current gen RPGs. Both in my top 5. People hate on Star Ocean, but it has one of the best battle systems ever.

Castlevania was really good too. Underrated and rivaled God of War IMO. In many aspects it was superior.

is Star Ocean a great RPG? Newegg sent me a $10 coupon and for $6 i don't think i should pass it up but i also really want the Devil May Cry Collection..

My top 3 this gen would be Lost Odyssey, ToV and SO4. $32 for both the games in this sale will get you many, many hours of play.

I enjoyed Lords of Shadow but I felt like it was TOO long if you can imagine that. It overstayed its welcome which lowered my overall opinion of the game. Definitely worth the $10 though.

I purchased the PS3 version and thought it was a pretty good game. Major improvement over Star Ocean 3 IMO.

Guess I need to give SO4 another shot - it didn't click with me the first time, but I'll admit I put very little time into it.

My top 3 RPGs this gen are Xenoblade, ToV & Lost Odyssey.

Oh, I also wanna give another recommend to Castlevania: Los - I thought it was a far better game than GoW3, and the sequel is one of my most-wanted games of next year.

I just finished Castlevania over the weekend and it's definitely worth the $10. Great game and the ending totally blew me away. Can't wait for the sequel.

I couldn't stand it. It was too hard and frustrating for me.
I know right, it's seriously trolling at this point to put only the 360 version of Castlevania on sale yet again.
Hasn't it kind of been typical this entire console generation for 360 games to be cheaper faster and have more sales than PS3 versions? I think they must produce less PS3 copies of games. That's he only explanation I can think of. I've been waiting for Valkryia Chronicles to be $10 and it hasn't happened yet. If it were on the 360 it would probably be below 10 on sale.
Vesperia is a must play game.
Agreed. Got it long ago for $30. Great game indeed.

These $10 games are a no brainer. Castlevania is worth $10 too.

That may be true, but I think its due to cost of blu ray disc which is why it doesnt drop as fast compare to 360.

I think it's supply and demand. Retailers don't care what the game is on.

I recall when I bought my PS3 on release d a BB rep recommended a official Sony HDMI for best 'clarity' for only $50. Used to be funny back in 2006, but I figured even the average consumer would know the going rate for HDMI's nowadays.

I know they always pull that crap with me and I'm like NOOPE!!!!!!!! I got mine from newegg for around that $2 range and best cable I ever bought!!!!
that Star Ocean price is tempting...anyone ever seen it lower?
Slick deal search shows its been 1$ cheaper at Newegg in the past.
When I see an HDMI cable for $2.50 it makes me laugh it up at those who pay $20 and up.
I think...hmm, five times now I've ordered a set of five HDMI cables from Newegg when they offer a 50% off coupon code for up to five of them, then I trade them in to Gamestop (though I space them out) for $4.40 each.

It's nice to consistently get ~$7.25 -> $22 GS credit. :)

I played through Castlevania LOS on the 360 and thoroughly enjoyed it. I didn't notice any horrible slowdowns. I would have preferred it on the ps3 but I couldn't find a copy.

It's a very good game but I'm more of a traditionalist with the story...I'm not too keen on how they reboot the characters or whip.

Another game that went under the radar in the same genre that I liked a lot was Dante's Inferno.

Why would they accept HDMI cables for trade in?

Thanks OP. Picked up Castlevania to add to my impossible backlog. Such a first world problem that I have.
that Star Ocean price is tempting...anyone ever seen it lower?
$16 is the cheapest I've seen Star Ocean. I normally see it for $35 used. It was $18 last month on Newegg so I jumped on it. :bouncy:

I'm gonna hold off on it since I still haven't play any Star Ocean series. I can confirmed with the previous poster that said that the lowest it dropped to was $15 from newegg as well.
So.... Star Ocean or Tales of Vesperia?
I would take tales of vesperia over star ocean. Tales of vesperia is just an awesome JRPG. Combat is fun, and the story is interesting enough to make you want to finish the game. I played star ocean like 2 years ago, and maybe played about 8 hours of it. And from what i played, the game just pretty much dragged for me imo. I mean who knows, maybe it got better as the game progressed, but i don't know, guess it just didn't have enough to keep my interest.
I like Vesperia better, but I love both games. I think if you are an RPG nut, both are needed for your collection.
I'm already getting Castlevania as well so I only want to get one, I'd get both if I could but I don't want to go overboard with spending.
