Bought Terraria & Trials Evo. 2000/3200, 2/4 games done. Gonna get Alan Wake's American Nightmare and a random 400 point one (full house poker if I get the points in time.)

Let's get punchcarded!

Also got Origin of Pain even though it doesn't count towards the 2000/3200. And American Pie for Rock Band :c

Kind of glad I haven't felt the need to buy additional points in weeks.
1 John 1:7,9
But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

I wish I had bought a discounted 4000 points code instead of a barely-discounted 1200 points code. I completely forgot about the 3200/800 MSP promo. :S And with that in mind I may pick up Trials Evolution also, as much as I'd rather see it at 600.

If you don't at least try Dust, you're stupid and I hate you.
... overdramatic incendiary remarks aside, it's one of the few games I've bothered to finish this gen and I had a total blast with it. My one and only complaint is that the characters and dialogue can be a little too cheesy sometimes, but the upside to that is it will appeal to your kids/nieces/nephews. Took me about 16 hours to beat, for those of you that care about that sort of thing. I played on Hardcore (or whatever the harder-than-normal difficulty is) and while it's mostly pretty easy, the difficulty will spike dramatically halfway through the final zone - take this time to finish off any optional quests you've ignored, which will take 2 hours tops, and the rest should work itself out.

Looking to sell codes for The Gunstringer and Fruit Ninja Kinect, together or separately. Message me with your offer.

I disagree ... I'm thinking as long as you're buying valid DLC tied to Arcade games, then they're going to include it for the 3200 award ... and don't forget "American Pie" is technically DLC for "Rock Band Blitz". ;)

A. During the month of April, earn a punch for spending 800 Microsoft Points on Arcade game(s) from the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. Spend a total of 3,200 Microsoft Points on Arcade games under the Xbox LIVE account tied to your Rewards account and earn 800 Microsoft Points back.

Neither "Pinball FX2" nor "Crimson Alliance" would count if punches were only for games. Luckily, we should have an answer near the end of this week, so there's still plenty of time for folks to break open their "MS points" piggy-bank during this sale.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to login to either "Trials Evolution" or "Retro City Rampage" and leave the game(s) on "pause", so I can accumulate 5 hours in each of my newly-purchased XBLA games (of at least 400 MSP each, that is). :D

On what basis are you able to disagree? No one has confirmed in any way that DLC is valid for the promotion, so let's try to avoid getting anyone's hopes up until we get a firm confirmation or denial. I'd be willing to bet they'd make exceptions for the titles you mention, though perhaps only after substantial nagging.

Sadly XBR answered the question about DLC being counted for this promo with a big fat NO:

Only games count toward this promotion..was still hoping it would be otherwise...

The DLC tables? Yes!

PFX Classic is pretty lame. Don't buy it. It's also "extremely unlikely" to be compatible with Pinball FX3.
PvZ is a pretty darn faithful application of the Plants vs. Zombies game into a pinball table. It's probably the easiest table they've made, but I still played it for a good chunk of time. It's ease of use just meant I felt cool playing it for so long. :)
Avengers Chronicles is neat! Infinity Gauntlet pushes the limits of what cool effects they can do while still maintaining a pinball feel. Avengers is a decent table too. I haven't played all that much of Fear Itself or World War Hulk, but both have neat features.
---
Dust: AET is one of my favorite games ever. Beautiful animation, a story that I personally liked a lot, and a nifty combo system.

As someone who played Dust on the regular difficulty, I recommend playing the game on the hardest difficulty if you're even kinda good at games like this. Once I mastered the control system and how to rack up combos, I really regretted that I wasn't on the hardest difficulty.

Agreed. On Hard, it's only truly hard right at the beginning. Before long you'll have the combat down and even bosses won't pose too much trouble. Dust i such a wonderful and engrossing game.

You always seem to complain. I see it in every thread and its annoying. If its half off you want it to be 75% off. If its on sale for $30 you cry that it should be $10. If its $10 you cry that it should be $5. Get over it and buy it or not.

On another note, I agree with others. Dust and Mark of the Ninja are great. What are peoples opinions of Deadlight?

If I remember right, during the first time it was on sale everyone complained about how Deadlight was not worth it. The combat is frustrating, the controls are sluggish, story was near non existent and the length was 3 hours or so. So I think those complaints still hold true as far as I know.

So I know this has probably been asked, but why is AMY rated so poorly again? Just very frustrating and difficult, or is it glitchy and unplayable? The idea seems good, but I was never a fan of RE1.

Someone else can explain it better, but Amy had a ton of rough spots at release including a horrible lack of checkpoints. The developers did right and released a patch that fixed some of those rough spots. Reviews are written at release, so they wouldn't reflect the improvements made by the patch.

I Think the fact the game was one giant escort mission was enough as it is, but the fact that the little girl you're protecting is a goddamn idiot and would get herself killed or just not hold your hand was enough to get people to just hate it. Add to it the fact that it had a terrible combat system with weapons that broke apart almost instantly and no good indicator of when you're turning into a zombie and many glitches, yeah the game just sucked.

Same here. I'll buy the PvZ table, RCR and BBT this week. I'm interested in Nike+ Kinect but not $30 interested.

Ooh unlockable Hatty in Castle Crashers! Gotta love The Behemoth. More devs should do similar crossover content. It shows customer appreciation for loyalty. Twisted Pixel is good at it and sometimes EA surprisingly.

Played Retro City Rampage for about an hour last night and I absolutely love it. It has been on my radar for a while, but after reading reviews I got the feeling it wasn't going to be anything spectacular. As a kid of the 80's I was laughing out loud at some parts. Especially loved
Spoiler
. It might depend on the decade in which you grew up but if you are an 80's kid on the fence about it I highly recommend it. And for whoever complained about it not taking up the full screen just go into options and turn the overlay off. Did I mention there were game boy and virtual boy overlays? :D

Some quick reviews on my purchases:

Retro City Rampage - You definitely have to be an 80's fan to like this game. It's basically playing a NES game with a ton of 80's and 90's references tossed in it. If you are a younger gamer, you might not catch on to some of the references and end up finding the game VERY boring, wishing you had bought Dust or Mark of the Ninja instead. BUT, if you grew up in the 80's it is very entertaining and you'll end up hunting down all the references throughout the game since they are everywhere, including the name of buildings.

Plants Vs. Zombies Table - Love it! I know a lot of people play Pinball FX 2 just to kill time, even if you love achievements (like me). So it was kinda refreshing to knock out the 1 and only achievement easily and just play the table for fun. I really wanted to see how they would implement the game play of the actual game into the table, and I think it was well done! The flower in the middle of the table giving you sun power, zombies popping out of the floor during missions, and even the big robot in the back which I really didn't get to see what he does yet, if anything at all.

Also, I highly recommend Mark of the Ninja. Picked it up during the last sale and loved the different styles of how to play the game, especially with the costumes you unlock for each style. Play as either stealthy ninja sneaking around in the shadows and not killing a soul, a deadly assassin using all his tools to take out the enemy, or strike fear into the enemy which can eventually lead them into killing their own men that startle them.

Yes everyone seems to hate Amy. I do wish I would find a review or two that was written following the update (I could say the same about Bloodforge). Both games were severely criticized prior to their updates and I've never been sure how they might be received following these. Sadly it's very rare for any review site to review updated games - I'd so love it if The Escapist or Destructoid reviewed Amy again as my god Susan Ardent and Jim Sterling bloody hated that game with a hardon. Part of me is worried that I might one day give in and buy it and then regret the fact that I'm an idiot.

Classic is great if you also like pinball more grounded in reality. I wish they would release more original tables in the style of the classic tables. I completely skipped the Marvel tables, but I did get Boba Fett and Episode V on Android. On Xbox I think you had to buy them together and I didn't want Clone Wars.
