The following is all jacked from jimijumper's "The Bona-Fide Target Clearance Thread XX IS NOW CLOSED!!!" thread linked below

Previous thread:

XX

Target clearance is YMMV
Games may not even be on clearance at your store, or they may be higher or lower than what is on this list.

This thread is for clearance-- not for sale items. Price reductions for clearance seem to happen on Monday but could also occur any day of the week depending on your store's price change team. Price adjustments on clearance are typically not allowed, but some have succeeded or have been able to do as return and rebuy.

Further reduction is possible when a game's price ends with 8 cents. However, when it ends in 4 cents it will NOT drop anymore. If it ends in 9 cents, it's just on sale or on a non-clearance reduction. Also, note that, typically, games will drop three times-- from 30%, 50%, then to the final drop of 70% or 75% off of the original price. Some people, however, have seen further drops up to 85%.

When games are marked down, the price change team typically find the game and scan it with their PDA/LRT to intiate the price change. However, in the case that they cannot find the game, they will either choose to not drop the price further or process the price change anyway, figuring that the game is somewhere in the store.

When posting deals, please include game, system, price, DCPI # and online item # in RED!!!

For example:

$4.98
123-45-6789 Random Game Name #12345678

DPCI stands for Department, Class, Item-- it's Target's version of a SKU. These are a nine digit number that can always be found on your receipt and also on the red clearance tags on the item itself.

DPCI numbers are handy to have when you want to check the item's price-- just go over to your scanner and punch in the numbers, if your scanners have keypads. Also, you can give these numbers to team members so they can check the availability of the item easily with their PDA scanners. Please post any DPCI #'s or Online Item #'s that are not already in the OP-- thanks!

This is especially important since some of the DPCI numbers on Target.com start with 241, meaning they cannot be used in-store, and also meaning that I can't get all of the numbers from Target.com.

New link to search for items using Target's online item #:

Find In Store

You can also take the DPCI # and search on Target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there.

(HUGE PROPS TO mitch079 FOR GETTING US THIS USEFUL INFO!!!)

If you are having trouble with the above search here are more detailed directions:

Take the DPCI #s and search on target.com for an exact match and then use the store locator there. If there isn't an exact match, try googling Target and the DPCI #. For instance, on the 500 gb Seagate hard drive, it doesn't show up on the site. Google shows the online # as 13730271. Then, you can plug the online # in http://m.target.com/fiats/t- and put the online number after the - so the link would be: http://m.target.com/fiats/t-13730271. Hit enter, plug in your zip and it should work.

Here is a fairly easy way to check your local Target's pricing in-store as often price tags will not be correct:

1) Go to Half.com or a similar site. Search for the game to locate its UPC code number. It's in the gray box underneath the box art graphic.
2) Go to UPC Database ,Milk.com , or UPC Data and enter the code so you can print out the UPC. Go to Target and use the price scanners to scan your printouts.

Thanks to BigDirty for that^

Thanks for the new thread, Kovorkian (and thanks jimijumper for all your previous efforts!). The annual winter/spring lull is in full effect round these parts outside of the :360: media remote.

Oddly..a bunch of 3DS SIMS 3's showed up at my store for $4.98.

I'm not condoning it..but it can be flipped for almost double right now at Gamestop ($9.60 with PURS card)...

;)

Oh and thanks Kevorkian..and to jimi for the previous 20 or so Target threads.

I used to get so many things from Target clearance when I lived within 15 minutes of 5 stores. Now I have to drive an hour and a half to get to the closest one .

the Targets in Connecticut don't seem to participate in these sales hardly ever. Once I got raccoon city, I used to check all the time but not as often anymore.
the Targets in Connecticut don't seem to participate in these sales hardly ever. Once I got raccoon city, I used to check all the time but not as often anymore.
Same here. Most of the Targets are in well to do areas so clearance is pretty much non-existent. It sucks, but that's the reason I stopped hunting for these high YMMV type deals.
Looks like Uncharted 2 GOTY is $5.98.
yeah, online only, may be able to price match, if your target carries the game.
Wait, the :360: Media Remote was on clearance? How long ago was this?
Very recent, my local had 2 at 50% last week, this week they were gone.
I feel like this sucks so much now this should be in the regional forum or something. Austin is weak ever since they reorged the electronics section.
I've seen the same issue at my local target. Ever since the reorg there is nothing good in the clearance area. Either the employees buy it all before it's moved or the stuff is hidden is one of those locked areas.
Wait, the :360: Media Remote was on clearance? How long ago was this?
If u have a HEB plus in your area, the white one is $9.99 and the black one is $14.99.

Went today, just saw a PSVita starter kit marked "As Is" at about $10.xx was slightly tempted but only for the thought of a tiny 4gb memory, an Online only item Kingdom Hearts 3D (Don't recall the price tag since I already own the game)

Non Video Game Items: Bunch of random marked down books, couple copies of Hugo (BR, DVD + Digital) for $8.xx...
I walked away with Tom & Jerry Golden Collection Volume One DVD, as much as I wish it was the Bluray version, it was marked "As is" for $5.06.

i was at the san dimas target and saw the following: One 360 dvd remote for 13 and change
and one wireless wheel thing for about 16-18 for the 360
yeah, online only, may be able to price match, if your target carries the game.
Do Target price match their website? Because when I worked there a long time ago they never price matched anything from their website.

Just got back from target I saw 3 Hugo bluray for $8.xx. The devil inside and norbit DVD for $4.xx. And black Xbox media control for $4.xx. That's about it.

Price Match Guarantee

If you buy a qualifying item at a Target store then find the identical item for less in the following week’s Target weekly ad or within seven days at Target.com, Amazon.com, Walmart.com, BestBuy.com, ToysRUs.com, BabiesRUs.com or in a competitor’s local printed ad, we’ll match the price. Price match may be requested at Guest Services prior to your purchase with proof of current lower price or by bringing in your original Target store receipt and proof of the current lower price.

Does not apply to CityTarget stores; see details below.

Started to get the media remote, but I realized that I also have a PS3 in each room I have a 360 so ill either be watching blu rays or using the PS3 to watch DVDs. Being the CAG that I am I was still tempted to get it even though I knew I had no use for it. It's a disease....
from https://corporate.target.com/about/shopping-experience/our-low-price-promise
Thanks for the heads up. I haven't worked at Target for the last 4 years so never knew that they changed their policy. I checked the link that you provided me with their price matching policies and the biggest thing that I was confused about it is in the exclusions part it state that it excluded clearance items. So would that mean the clearance items that I wanted from online would be up to the manager to price match?

Somewhat related to clearance, so here goes. I saw a mention of the ME3 360 CE being $20 in the old thread. I can confirm it is, but ps3 is still $80. My question is does the CE have a different set of discs than the regular one? I'd pick one up if they are the same and just trade the discs to GS, but if they are different I'd keep them. (all I am interested in is the steelbook, not the game)

I'm a bit anal about unique ce discs though. (like ME2 and Oblivion 5th Ed. Had)
Saw like 15 copies of FIFA soccer for vita for 14.98 and I also picked up an element LCD TV 19" for 32 bucks.
FIFA Soccer was 9.99 at 3 targets. Picked up Sims on 3DS for $5, werid thing is it was sitting next to 3 other Sims that were priced $10 and rang up for $10.

They will not match clearance, they never match clearance between stores or online.

Some people have reported getting it matched in the old target clearance thread (XX) and the old flip thread, however it is highly YMMV, as they are not supposed to match clearance

I've never seen Black Friday doorbusters have leftovers at the end of the day, but maybe they just found these in a warehouse somewhere :)

Saw a bunch of sims 3 for 3ds for 4.98 (almost picked one up but heard it was a bad game). Still may just for 5 bucks, its got to be better than steel diver (which i also got for 5 bucks but from best buy). I picked up a 360 media remote for 9.98. Ive always hated using the controller for netflix and when streaming from my PC. Glad I got the remote for cheap but I do wish it had a separate media center button. Oh well, just takes an extra step or two.

The Target I work for only has a few games on clearance

The Price is Right Decades Wii $14.98 207-26-0846

Rage PS3 $13.98 207-24-0829

The Sims 3 3DS $4.98 207-02-1323

I guess normally 599. I found on sd ppl there said some 399 or 349. Also there are supposedly 2 different versions 1 pick 1 I am 1 that is a slim I happen to get the slim. Got the ecoslim. People also said you're not the greatest TV but you can get a 1 plan for only 30 dollars more. I only grabbed it honestly to replace my recently cracked screen for now. I figure if it last most of the warranty I'm in good shape. It sucks that it only has 2 HDMI and no USB. Just waiting to mount it when I have another day.

Screw my target

Check every 1-2 weeks to see if they ever clearance anything, and they haven't for months.
Every other target in the fucking nation clearances games, why the fuck doesn't mine?
I'm in the same damn boat..................
As a guy who has shopped Target clearances for probably coming up on 15 years now, I can tell you, they ain't what they used to be.

Now, maybe it is just a cyclical thing but I suspect not, and that Target has gotten more sophisticated in their inventory control practices...and it is not just video games, but a lot of other areas too from what I have seen.

They just simply don't seem like they have as much left over crap they need to clearance like they did 4-5 years ago.

I honestly can't remember the last decent wide-spread VG clearance at my local Targets (and I have 3 that I regularly hit) where it used to be a monthly event it seems.
