need advice on a headset adapter

So I bought a razer carcharias and it ended up being the older version that does not hook up to the tv/xbox 360. I contacted Razer from their facebook and website customer service. I got pretty much the same answer of looking for a 3rd party adapter. Anyone try this before? I'm having a hard time trying to find anything to get this to work.

I tried a coupler as a in between for the audio jacks and that didn't work

They only thing I can think of is buying one of those adapters from somewhere like gamestop or turtle beach. I have one but it's made for either pc or ps3, but that only really lets you connect the chat to them, and possibly the sound but idr lol. It's the amigo 2.
