I believe I'm in the right place, lots of crickets in here. Well here are my thoughts on the Windows 8 I've had for 3 days. Hope to see this mobile area get some life again but I would be surprised if these even gets a read or two.

I made the jump from from an Android 2.3 to a Windows 8 phone (HTC 8x) and I'm prefer it over Android. I didn't care for Jellybean OS either.

The HTC 8x is small (skinny) and fits well in my front pocket where I keep my phone 75% of the time. The curve on the back of the phone feels nice as well. The screen is absolutely gorgeous. The interface is simple to use and I like the tiles. Its much easier to make phone calls to people I contact frequently, I made them individual tiles and groups. Once I got past setting up contacts and the sync issues across accounts I had no issue whatsoever. The OS is very smooth and flows nicely. The voice command actually works on the first try, my android took a few tries every time.

I also really like the camera, with a one button push straight out of my pocket, it also has shutter(BLINK you have to download it) where it takes multiple pictures and saves the best one. I love this mode since all my pictures I have my eyes closed in them.

The only app I'm really missing is Mint, but I'm sure it will come eventually.

I just got an HTC 8X in the past week too, lol. I also love the interface and the phone itself. I have not tried many of the non-games apps but I have not found much that I miss from my old Droid phones. The phone feels great and seems to be built to be held comfortably for extended periods of time.

I just got the Nokia Lumia 928. WP8 took some getting used to but I'm liking it more and more. Just wish it synced all my google contacts correctly, a lot of them are missing phone numbers and stuff. Also, the app store is lacking but it's only bound to improve.

You can use the Nokia Transfer app to transfer contacts via Bluetooth from your old phone. I did that with my Galaxy Nexus and didn't have any issues.

I just got the Lumia 928, my first Windows phone, and I LOVE this thing.  I love the tiles, the responsiveness, the audio quality in-call, the games...you name it.  Great, great phone.

I just picked up the Lumia 928 for my work phone.  I like it just as much as the HTC 8x, they are about the same thickness but after having both phones, I do appreciate the roundness on the edges on the HTC as it feels nicer in my pocket.  The 928 does have more apps provided by the Nokia store and the camera is much nicer then the HTC 8x.  Either way I'm happy with both phones.

I'm really liking my Nokia Lumia 521. Not the latest and greatest specs wise, but less than $100 off contract. The best performing cheap smartphone on the market.

Personally Im looking to move onto a Lumia 1520 or 1020 even though I only recently got an S4. Im not a fan of IOS anymore or any apple product :/

I like what Nokia are doing for Windows and like what Samsung has done for Android (Google) but whilst Android at the moment has a stronger market place I am just waiting to see how Microsoft do on catching up with the big apps they are promising
