The state of UK CAG

It's been on hiatus while I've been working on the new site, which is going to launch soon - all the UK data feeds will be fixed (with new ones added) as well as a lot of new features.

To me at least this part of the site's been superseded by the likes of PostaBargain and HotUKDeals since they always seem to get wind of the good deals before CAGUK these days.

Good to hear there's new foundations being laid though.

Great news! Can't wait to see the new site.

So im from the us. Anyone know the cost from to convert money?
I was thinking of this game, but im not sure if my 3ds can play it (3ds from usa)

I kind of want this because the glow in the dark cover and the pre order bonus.

Here is the link:

Anyone can tell me the total cost if i use paypal including paypal fees? I never order international before, so is their like custom fees, etc from the post office?

It'd be about $50 (maybe $53 or so with delivery unless they charge a lot more than standard to the US).

I don't own a 3DS but I believe it isn't region free so a game from a PAL region won't work on your NTSC 3DS.

If I am wrong anyway and it will play it and you order it then there probably will be import duty on it. The amount can vary from country to country though and depends on where you import from. For example I'm in Ireland and when importing an item from the US I have to pay VAT on items (currently it's 23% so it ends up a pretty big amount). You can get around this by asking anyone you buy a game from to label it as a Gift but a store like GAME or Amazon (or any major retailer really) won't normally do this for you.

Thanks for the info. That sucks, why cant they do it for everyone.

I don't understand how people are always viewing the uk forums with at least 5 people at any one time and yet they don't post any threads or deals. If people started to post more deals I'm sure this would kick start things up.

Most threads are just for things that can't be put into the deal stream like particular sales or upcoming offers and whatnot. Here we mostly just get random deals or cut prices on specific items. Heck even I'm going to HUKD more than here for gaming deals because it's more active.

I use HotUKDeals alot for the deals but try to repost them on CAG dealstream if they are good. Share the love. Forum should be for subjects outside the dealstream in my opinion. Would rather check CAG for my game deals so I dont end up buying all that random shizzle you see on HotUKDeals however!!! :whistle2:#

Has the relaunch been cancelled? I posted a load of deals on the deal stream today but I doubt anyone even checks it these days since the latest deal is from 3 days ago and before that 11 days ago!

For the record I am willing to make more of an effort to post game deals up when I see them but one guy does not make a community :( It would be good to see the UK forum revitalised with DoTW threads and App Store deals. Maybe even have a few competitions again? The competitions listed ended years ago.

There have been more deals posted in the last few days than I've seen for ages, I'll try to keep my effort up but kudos to everyone else taking part (Flash Harry in particular today)

I can finaly post :D

i posted the xbox live 12 months deal for £26.99 the other day.

been mailing the site manager to get me activated so i can post stuff here.

im in for posting uk deals definatley.

got some codes to drop too but dont want to post them in the public section so randoms can lurk them and not thank me.

cheers

No problem Flash Harry. ive just seen a new unmoderated deal so commented on it as the deal is even sweeter if you go instore. you get the kinect for £24.99 when bought with a cheapo game :D

Shouldn't the new site be up by now? Postabargain, HotUKDeals, Vanillaplay, some other video game forums... They`re all good for browsing deals but I miss the personality of CAG.

We're doing test conversions for the site switchover now.
