3ds xl screen protectors

ninjab0yyyy13

CAGiversary!
I just got the pikachu 3ds xl this weekend, and I was wondering if anybody could help me to find a screen/ full body skin protector. I wanna make sure the screen, as well as the entire 3ds xl console itself, is fully protected before I decide to start playing it.

I've never really bought screen protectors before so I was wondering, does anyone know of any reputable brands that make good screen protectors. I was also hoping that maybe someone could help me to find one that could give me the best bang for my buck. I kind of would prefer not to spend 30 or 40 bucks for these things.

Thanks for anyone who can help.

I got the Pikachu 3DS XL this weekend myself (* high five  *). I'm usually pretty careful with my portable gaming devices in the past, so the only thing I had to worry about concerning protection from scratches was the touch screen. I applied the HORI Nintendo 3DS XL screen filter yesterday on my touch screen with no problems. The set includes a screen protector for the top and bottom screens for $7.19 with Amazon Prime shipping

Unless you're always touching the top screen or leave dirty fingerprints all the time, I would recommend saving your money and spend $7.19 to protect your touch screen alone.

^ what this guy said.. Hori makes really good screen protectors i have it on my 3dsXL right now and it really good. but i would recommend putting the protector on the top screen too because some people have said the bottom screen scratches the top one and i've notice on my top screen theres a little line on both sides that got protected by the screen protector
Ditto on the Hori. It was really easy to put on, barely noticeable, and well worth the money.
thanks since everyone said to go with a hori. I'll go and get one.

The Hori ones I bought (which I'm sure were originals) were too thick on the bottom screen and wouldn't read any touch by fingers or stylus. This was the case with both XL models I put them on, so I had to take them off. Anyone else run into this?

Nope. Where did you buy yours? I got mine from Amazon and they do not interfere at all. I also had them on my regular 3DS and had no problems either.

I put the Hori screen protectors on mine this past weekend, and out of all the screen protectors I've applied (and there have been a ton) I think that's the easiest one I've ever done. Looks fantastic too, no bubbles at all and you really can't even notice it's there.

Did you buy the American ones? Some people have stated in the reviews that there was trouble on the bottom screen.

The Hori ones that I brought (DS and 3DS) were authentic Made in Japan one, and those never gave me trouble.

The Amazon reviews are also keeping me from buying the American release for the XL. I'm probably gonna avoid these and just buy the Japanese release from playasia or something.

Don't know about soonersfan60 but I got those from Amazon and they seemed to be the Japanese version. The whole packaging and instructions was in Japanese, so I am assuming they were the Japanese version.

I got them off eBay, but they looked like authentic Japanese ones. I have them on my original DS and never had a problem. Maybe I'll try Amazon.

I got the regular Hori ones from amazon (they were $7.19), applied both screens and no touch problems whatsoever. I will say, they have the whole special installation method with instructions, but from personal experience make sure if you do get any bubbles to rub them out SLOWLY with the cardboard card, with very small gentle motions over and over again towards the outside. I rubbed too hard with one of my XLs with these, trying to push the bubble out with one or two big slides and got a permanent mark in the protector from the bubble collapsing that obscures the screen a bit.

Anyway, to the OP: maybe you could do the Hori protectors and one of those clear plastic full-body shells. They made a bunch for the ds lite, I'm sure there's one for the 3ds XL, and that way you could protect the outside of the system from finger grease and wear, and still see Pikachu's mug through it. ;)

sorry I know I asked this before (and probably in another thread too) but has anyone used the full body protection like this one http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/B0098QJGJI/ref=nosim/cheapassgam08-20

I didn't get too many responses or opinions on it. I think I'm actually leaning more towards getting these protectors instead of the hori because I wanna protect not only the 3ds screens but also the pikachu design on the outside of the 3ds as well. I'm thinking this would provide me with both inner and outer protection.

I'm a little concerned though. I don't know whether or not the liquid used in applying these types of skins would damage the console in any way, shape or form. I've also never applied this type of skin before.

Also, a link to the Amazon seller with the "real" screen protectors that everyone used and liked would be helpful to make sure I don't buy the wrong ones again from a different seller.

Authentic Japanese ones should say "Made in Japan" under the barcode (I think.) There's some pretty convincing one. I believe I messaged one seller, located in NY, about his "Hori protectors" (the picture showed the red JPN ones) and he responded,

"These are NON-OEM product which made in China. There are some different quality on Ebay,we choose the better quality in the market, many buyers like them and buy again."

This is the one on Amazon
