The first time I saw Mr. Isbell was with the Drive by Truckers at the American Music Festival at Fitzgerald's in Berwyn, IL. This was very likely the show, if interested: http://archive.org/details/dbt2004-07-03.flac16 . I was late getting into the show because I saw the Waco Brothers play on another stage. The DBT show was still long and packed to the gills. I quickly sought out all their albums. The last time I saw DBT was when they opened for the Black Crowes in Chicago. I know Isbell isn't part of that camp (don't call it an outfit) anymore, but his tunes (and theirs, still) are really amazing. I just thought I'd share. That Fitzgerald's show was one of those, "Holy Crap! These guys are on fire! Why haven't I heard of them before?" moments.
