At work today I found a box marked "Atari Video Kit," and upon opening it I found about 40 video games, most of them sealed. Most were 7800s and several were 2600s. I looked up the set online, but only found that the kit was sold at specific stores to get rid of stock or something.
After making a list, I calculated that the total value of the games was about $300 on the low end in its condition. I wonder how much it cost back then when it was sold.
Did these kits vary in selection or were they mostly the same? The box I saw had games like Basket Brawl, Midnight Mutants (with Al Lewis! on the cover), and the usual Dig Dug and Donkey Kongs.
