Hyperkin RETRON 5 Game Console

CAGiversary!
Anyone else looking forward to the release of the Hyperkin Retron 5 Console? I can't wait to get one of these bad boys.

The system is designed to play NES/SNES/GENESIS/GAME BOY/FAMICOM/SUPER FAMICOM. It will come with a Bluetooth Wireless controller and HDMI 720p output. They are also aiming for 100% compatibility with all game titles. It looks like it will be a great system and should be under $100.

I would post a pic of it but for some reason I think I am blocked from posting pics. Anyone know how I can be able to post pics/videos/signature?

Right here! :D

I'm looking forward to the day the RetroN 5 goes on sale. I've recently gone back to play my SNES collection, and the ability to play it in glorious 720p is a huge deal for me. Assuming there is no HDCP, I can also make streaming SNES games on Twitch look a LOT nicer too. :D

I'm just eager to hear when the release date will be. (it hasn't been announced yet, to my knowledge) Supposedly its going to be sometime before the end of the summer. They had a working prototype on display at E3, so I am somewhat hopeful. I want to see/test out the upscaling that will be available for the system. Being able to scale my classic games up to high-def levels properly and with the options that are important to me is a big selling point.

Shit if it's half as good as it promises to be I'll get that over any new consoles this Christmas.

I've been trying to keep my eye for a release date of it ever since Ship talked about it a few months ago on the Cagcast. I'm just mainly looking forward to cleaning up the clutter from multiple consoles and the cables. The hi-res is definitely a big plus too since a lot of my connections have become pretty shotty over the yrs

This looks tempting to me just as a top loading NES that's fully compatible with the NES library.  I might get this just to retire my original Sega Genesis, NES, SNES, and Gamecube Gameboy Player.

Damn it.  I'm going to have to keep an eye on this.  I might have to start adding to my older game collection for this.

I'm not a fan of third party console "makers/developers"  but the features on this thing are really awesome, I can't wait to get one of those.

I played the system a little when I sat down with David from Hyperkin to talk about the system. The controller feels like a legit controller and not like the cheap pieces of trash like the others. You can see the interview here if you care to see it.
