I thought about jumping on it but - I have a feeling there will be a goty version with dlc soon.

I'd imagine this will be like $10 or less in a couple months.   I think AssCreed Rev was like 8 bucks when III came out, seems to be a cycle.

 
Yea AssCreed usually drops in price quick, most Ubi games do, I've never actually paid more than $20 for any of the ones I have, and didn't take a year to get them either. But this time my cousin has been begging me to get a copy for him so I've been looking out for a drop below $30, this is even better of course.

I wouldn't hold out for a lower price because the game is just awful. Bad pacing, no open world till 6+ hours in, buggy, bad controls, annoying protagonist, ridiculous take on history, lame mini-games... half the story quests are you just holding forward while another character speaks. You're better off replaying Brotherhood and watching Desmond's frame story on youtube.

Is it really still buggy? I rented it when it just came out and the bugs were annoying as hell, got a way into it then I said I won't buy this now, wait for them to patch this up.
