3 tiers, up from 2. Spend thresholds are $1500 and $3500 respectively, from $2500.

How do I qualify for My Best Buy Elite or Elite Plus?

Elite status is automatically awarded when you spend $1500 or more on qualifying purchases at Best Buy and BestBuy.com in a calendar year, or $1,500 or more in total anywhere on the My Best Buy MasterCard.

Elite Plus status is automatically awarded when you spend $3500 or more on qualifying purchases at Best Buy and BestBuy.com in a calendar year, $3,500 or more in total anywhere on the My Best Buy MasterCard

Reward Zone Gamers Club appears to now be my Best Buy Gamers Club, program benefits seem to be the same.

What are the benefits of the My Best Buy Gamers Club?

Benefits include:

Get 2X points on new game software, digital content and game accessories

Get 2X points when you trade in games
Special money-saving exclusive offers
Also:

Does it cost anything to be a My Best Buy Gamers Club member?

Gamers Club membership is free. You must be a U.S. or Puerto Rico resident at least 13 years of age with a valid e-mail address.
EDIT: Thanks to person123, who noted that there's still a Gamers Club Unlocked tier, in which benefits include the same 10% bonus trade-in credit, 10% discount off Pre-Owned Games, 10 issues of @Gamer magazine, and exclusive Paid Subscription offers.

I imagine we'll get some answers about current statuses in the next few days if you're a Silver member and/or a paid GCU member, since all the programs have changed.

Just to share, I was a Silver member and my status is now Elite Plus through the current status year.

They're nuking my Silver membership return time from 60 days to a month to a month and a half? Eff this :| I don't see how this is an improvement at all.

I was gonna say, "well, at least they finally made it to you don't have to log into two different sites" but I was wrong, they just moved the RZ site to mybestbuy.com.

Seriously?! fuck BBY. Was excited to get Silver for the first time ever and then they pull this crap.

I don't think making it better for anyone but BBY was the point.

well, i guess this is a sign, that soon they will be getting rid of gamers unlocked membership then

Well at least you're still "elite".

And here I thought it was to ruin my Monday. Live and learn.
I guess but the perks I really wanted were the expedited shipping and the return policy. Basically now you're "spending" $1500 a year to have the exact same return policy and shipping from six months ago before they changed the return policy. GG.

Sort of. They also changed the price match policy, which means you're paying $1,500 a year to have slightly less perks than you did 6 months ago.

For me, Silver lost its value when Best Buy changed their price match policy. The expedited shipping was nice, but I'm not gonna choose to buy games there just to earn free shipping. They should be making their programs better for dedicated customers who still shop there, not making them worse.

Maybe this is a sign BestBuy is having trouble with sales and that's why its adjusting all its programs so people spend more money?? Just look at the GamersClub program now this. They really need new marketing promotions like the ones before for people to spend money at the stores.

Sounds like BBY logic. "What will boost sales? I know, taking everything good about shopping at our stores and removing it while making sure we treat the customers like garbage. It works on women at the bar so I'm sure it will work on our customers too!"

I'm sure best buy will sorely miss all the "loyal customers" who are bitching and moaning that they can't abuse the 60 day price match window.

So to current Silver Members, are we currently on the Plus tier? Or the Elite tier...

Either way, Best Buy is the champ at taking awesome things and turning them into shit.

Well back to hoping BBY gets back to hurrying up and dying already.
Financially the company has been doing a lot better than in previous years. Stock price has tripled since the beginning of this year. I think we view it as Best Buy going downhill due to them no longer catering to us cheapasses sorta... This new my best buy program is just another one of Best Buy's "renew blue" initiatives to trim the fat. I'm sad to see the program downgraded but it is not like Amazon or any other retailers reward me much for doing business with them.

I just saw this posted on Blu-Ray.com regarding the $20 Gamers Club promos, I guess we will see how this pans out.

Anyone here a Gamers Club Unlocked member? If so, remember the titles they had that you could pre order and get a $20 rewards zone certificate? Well yeah that has been axed, if they haven't told you yet! You are only eligible to get $10, not $20. So for those of you who pre ordered GTA 5 for instance and thought you were getting $20, think again. Even though it still says plainly on the Reward Zone site under promotions that they are offering $20...ridiculous!! Here is an email I received from one of their reps.

I was about to say I hope they don't screw up the $20 promo for GTAV.  Then again don't they usually tend to screw these promos up?  The $20 thing was also buried on a super difficult to find page in your RZ account if I remember right so we'll see.

Thats just a badly informed rep. Pretty sure on the forums it was already confirmed we would still get $20.
Yeah. I believe it was confirmed awhile back that GTA V and South Park: The Stick of Truth would still be $20 if you were a GCU member. That rep was probably unaware because they only advertise the $10 promo now.

I was only about $400 from reaching $2500 (preordered a PS4 so that would have brought me past the limit) so now it looks like I'm f'd and have to spend another $1000 to get "Elite Plus". If this is what ends up happening, I'm seriously considering taking my business elsewhere.

So wait...they ended GCU but we still have the benefits and it's free?  BBY better be prepared to get raped by BBB complaints if they do not refund or compensate those of us that just renewed.

I don't think they ended GCU... At least nothing has shown that they have.

Apparently I have "elite plus" even though I haven't spent $3500 but I was already primer silver so those people who already had PZ likely will get elite plus status.

No they didn't, they changed the RZ program and others were speculating that it's the first step towards the end of GCU.

Yeah, reading it again it does look that way. Wow, glad I more than paid for it in the whole week that I've had it.
According to this there is still a "paid" option, which is what GCU is.

I have been Premier Silver for about the last three years.  I have a little over $2,000 in spend for this year.  I just looked at my account and it shows me as Elite Plus through February, 2015.

Also it doesn't look like the new program rules go into effect for existing members until 11/1/13

"For members enrolled prior to 9/16/13, My Best Buy program rules are effective 11/1/13. For new members, program rules are effective upon enrollment."

Three tiers now? I'm going to have to wait and see what exactly they are going to do. They already made so many changes at my local Best Buy in the store it is difficult to have any faith in the choices that they have been making. I have been making purchases there matching Amazon prices, but depending how this all unfolds I just might be changing my shopping habits.

Welp, as long as GCU/coupons are still going to be offered I'm going to renew.  I can see them axing the program within the next year though.

I wonder why they didnt just cancel the program altogether?
Just give the (normal) customers something that's so hard to obtain that they can't benefit from it. Just like most CC rewards/points/miles programs. If you're savvy, there are ways to reach the high tiers without really trying.

Seriously... Who even uses the shit that they were getting from being Silver before? The deals that got me to Silver were all instore (musical instruments) and the only reason that I bought so much was that everything I bought was about 80% off MSRP. I'm not buying anything there that I couldn't get cheaper elsewhere.

I'm just wondering how much of this is actual complaining by people that used the benefits and how much is the normal blustery false indignancy that we seem to always get around here now...

Well this actually made things easier for me.  I will buy my PS4/X1 with them and that's probably about it.  Not gonna spend $3500/yr for what is currently the Silver program at $2500.

If it were still $2500 I may have looked to find a way to buy from there but not anymore.  Definitely gonna start looking at buying more with other vendors after these 'improvements'

You know, this is what makes the PUR rewards so amazing that GS can be so awful in how it treats it's customers but the PUR rewards is an amazing program. It's actually full of good stuff that's actually obtainable with real value.

you know what would have been nice with this change, made it so your points processed faster, say like in 24 hours, instead of pending for weeks.
Well they do that because they don't want you cashing out your points then returning stuff.
