Yeah but look they got the original sushi-x writing for them, that's pretty awesome
Oh dang! I never knew who Sushi-X was, very cool! Look at that guys creds, too. Maximo? Crash Bandicoot? And he helped developed Gamefan magazine? Wow.

As a side rant, from a former hardcore game-rag nerd, it broke my heart when EGM was cancelled and broke it again (harder) when it was resurrected and is no good. I couldn't get into the new format and writers at all. EGM and DieHardGameFan were the two best game magazines ever. Miss those old days. GI ain't too bad, though.

I remember when he first started posting stuff in his little corner I thought it was fantastic. He was easily the best part of EGM, but it didn't take long for his shtick to hit diminishing returns.... not unlike Family Guy, I eventually just got tired of his "mad libs" style of humor. I started reading Cracked recently, and I noticed he did some pieces there, but I couldn't even get through them.

Sounds very interesting. I'd be interested in subscribing to this. Might even have to help back it. 11 days, get on it guys. :D

Wow, this is the first time I have seen this mag. It actually looks great and I will definitely be getting a sub as soon as I can! Great job Read Retro team!

Blasphemy. His articles were hysterical.
The only worthwhile thing he really ever did was (almost) beat up Uwe Boll. His articles are kind of funny the first few times, then you realize he's using the same cookie cutter approach for every single thing he writes. The "Mad Libs" thing someone else mentioned is pretty accurate. Zzzzzz.

They already kind of tried the "all star supergroup of gaming journalism" thing with Polygon and I'm not sure how popular that site is but I guess it's better than your typical Kotaku-ish offering since some of the articles actually have some thought put into them. Not sure that anyone really needs a physical magazine at this point.

His funny was ok for a bit then I realized the actual meat and potatoes of his reviews are shit. He got a fan base by being funny, not by actually being a good reviewer or a good writer. He always had something smart ass to say but thats pretty much. Other than he is just one of a million other bloggers that talk a lot but dont actually say anything. Much like Adam sandler people got tired of his same shtick over and over again and forgot about him, much like adam he barely is noticed anymore and only works on the C list and pops up occasionally only to dissapear like a fart in the wind.

If he was half as good as all 47 of his internet fans say he is then he would be with a much bigger source.
