PAX East 2014

3 day badges are already sold out, I fortunately got mine. I've been the last two years, it's an event that never disappoints.

Missed the 3 day badges but I got a Saturday pass. I have friends in the area so I can hopefully stay with them and avoid hotel charges

I'm debating on going for the first time this year but none of my friends have money to go.  Anybody ever go by themselves? What was your experience?

Snagged a 3 day pass. Found out through work I might not be able to go. If that is the case I would offer my tickets up to an established CAG at cost

Works forcing me to go. Who can say no to that.

Get whatever tickets you can and just enjoy yourself!

though. I would cashout because one moment its like "I have $600 left on my credit card" then by end of day its like "Meh I should have *plenty* left" then you try buying something and its like...wait...what...rejected?!.... *checks on phone* maxed?!nooo the insanity!..

STAY AWAY FROM TABLETOP

I missed out on the three day passes this year, but snagged Friday and Saturday, which is fine, Sunday is usually a drag anyhow. Going by yourself shouldn't be an issue, depending on what you're looking to do. If you're interested in the exhibition floor, then you're just going to be standing in endless lines all day anyways.

Its really essential to make a game plan to avoid the chaos. Going backwards is one option. Naturally people go to the longer lines, so can hit the shorter ones first. Hit the smaller company demos (like mmos) first, they usually have the neatest grab bags....like nexons which hat or plush alone go for $300+ now. urhm will be on floor again this year however I do not think there will be any debuts like vindictus again.

I, for one cycle between floor & panels.

Depends on what you're into. I have no interest whatsoever in MMOs, tabletop or trading card anything, or PC games. I am interested in indy games and consoles, which is tough because that's usually where the longest lines always are. I've also never found any of the panels at PAX East to be anything worth getting excited for, although there were a few last year worth going to. At the very least though, there's always something for everyone, so no one can complain.

:p Im a goodiebagslut I dont care from where!. Indy I always worked way from back too....or well you cant do this without looking like a creeper but suddenly grab some guys arm in the front who looks like total neckbeard and pretend you know him and cut the line.

There was some good panels last year from indies, like music creation & some other interesting tidbits :) Might be better this time around I hope it is. Esp excited because the flood of kickstarter'd games wanna see those in action too huh?

Well I already missed the chances for tickets. Was trying to convince a friend to go and they sold out while I was on the phone. In the past have they ever had a second round of tickets?

Here's hoping I get some PAX prime tickets, never been to Seattle.

So I bought Friday and Sunday passes but am having buyer's remorse, if any CAGS would like one please contact me I'm not looking to make a profit on this just want to break even.

I went to PAX East and MAGFest last year. MAGFest is a much more fun event for me. Not planning to go to PAX again but definitely getting full weekend passes to the next MAGFest (I only went Saturday last time - not nearly enough)! PAX I went one day and had no desire to go a second day.

I went to one day of PAX East last year. The year before I didn't bother going because it was the same weekend as Anime Boston. I'm not even very into anime, but I thought it seemed pretty crappy of them to try and host a similar convention the same weekend (especially since PAX can just crush Anime Boston).

With all the hub-bub with the tickets this year I ended up getting them for the whole weekend. I guess I better find more stuff to fill my time when I'm there. Even though it is very huge, I felt like there wasn't enough to entertain me. As compared to SDCC that keeps me going the whole 4 or 5 day fiasco.

I'm kinda in the same boat but I will probably sell my Sunday pass.
