Oh yes, just in time for holiday sales.

Hoping for some crazy Walmart deal for $200. I already own one but I want to see this system sell. Hopefully Nintendo does like Sony/MS and has retailer bundles and crazy prices and such.

^ Not happening. Nintendo will not allow stores to sell it under MSRP.

Best case scenario is a bundle deal with some free games or a free gift card for a specific amount

Well if that's true they need to revise that dumb ass policy and sell some systems. Maybe a $50 gift card plus the release of the new Mario will do it for people but I highly doubt it'd be enough. At $200 it's much more of an impulse buy and people would be talking about it a lot more.

I'm very much still on the fence when it comes to the Wii U.

I want one but price is still a little high for me. I would mainly only buy and play first party games for it. To this point not many third party games I would have much interest in.

$200 would make me buy it.

Are the games really all the different? To me it seems like one game and you can just play as Luigi.  Nintendo really needs to make a new Mario game that is actually new, like a Mario 64, or Mario Galaxy.

They have completely wasted the last year they had free rein on their new console.

I don't about anything spectacularly new, but have you watched the videos for Super Mario 3D World? It looks awesome.

I would prefer a disc and a case for the games. I can already predict that this will be a disc in a glossy plastic sleeve like other Wii bundles.

Now I am especially glad I did not buy Wind Waker HD bundle (I really hate customized consoles), as this is the better bundle, IMHO. Besides, Wind Waker codes can be found for 30-40 bucks on eBay.

I just hope apparent reunion between Nintendo and Amazon with the 3DS will extend to the Wii U as well.

Amazon is selling 3DS systems now? I probably would have impulse bought a Wii U on Amazon by now if they had them.

I would of almost thought about buying a Wii U......Come on Nintendo all your had to do was offer me the bundle in Red or Green and my wallet would of opened

I'm not sure where you got this idea, but every single BF i've participated in has had Nintendo hardware with a lowered price. Some do giftcards, some do bundles but every year at least one retailer has had a super cheap Ninty handheld or console.

Walmart is a good bet, I got my cheap DS Lite and Wii there, both on BF.

I've thought about that, but who would buy a system without the needed gamepad?
someone dumb

I'm sure you can get $30 for the codes. $150 for the system.. i'm sure! maybe someone who dropped his wii u or something

This is a good start, they need more Wii U bundles. Get some thrid party bundles in on the action. AC4 could be bundled, etc. A wii party Bundle or wii Fit U bundle will probably sell here in the states as well. Its good to see them offering some incentives like this, hope they have some more tircks up their sleeves to entice us holiday impulse buyers!

They did deals on the Wii. The blue Wii was like $99 one year when the console was still $149 MSRP.

Granted this is only the 2nd year. I don't know about getting an "extreme" deal. But I would expect the up-front price to be knocked off at least $50.

Never gunna happen.
The blue Wii-U? Probably not. Maybe eventually though. I'd buy one.

I don't really think $199 happens either, but it probably should if Nintendo wants to compete. (PS3 and 360 bundles are for sure going to be <=$199, and they will have 2+ game as well).

If I had to guess, it will be a bundle for $249 with 2 games. Or perhaps if they stick with $299 all retailers will give a minimum $50 or $100 gift card. Which would be fine by me.

Maybe PS4 will be $249.99 on Black Friday!
Good luck with that.

Wii-U needs the bundling and discounting because it's already been determined to be an abject failure in the $300-$350 range. It's REGULAR, everyday price should probably be $199. It's not out of the realm of expectation to figure a holiday bundle should be $249. I don't expect Nintendo to get that aggressive with black Friday bundles to take it to $199, but it wouldn't surprise me if the deal was better than just $249 and a single game. If it's not, then Nintendo will just fail and lose in sales to PS3 and 360... let alone the PS4/Xbox1.
