Anyone play anymore? I haven't even seen anyone in the ol' CAG group play in a while, besides myself.

Standalone is still being worked on with no current public release, and there's at least 3 ARMA 3 iterations out now:

Zoombies -- Classic DayZ gameplay on Chernarus, with improved ARMA 3 engine/effects/weather/lighting.

Dead Nation -- DayZ on Altis/Stratis, I think.

Breaking Point - Its own thing, but very much DayZ-like gameplay. Lots of new guns, and it seems like they're going their own way with it. Zombies were re-done, and it's only on Altis right now. It's great, though, even for an alpha.

Only one I've played or gotten to work is BP, which I used to play on ARMA 2 DayZ. It's a solid experience that really made me reminisce about my first days with DayZ. I also need some people to play with (in A3 Breaking Point), if people are already playing it/want to look into it. It also has a buddy system that puts you in a group with someone, but it only works for two people. I think it'll be fleshed out greatly in the future.

I don't have Arma 3, but with Arma 2 on sale I'm wondering if I should buy it just for DayZ. Just recently found out about it, and always wanted to pull the trigger on it, but feel like it would be much better with other players, and I'm not sure if there's enough interest in 2 for it to be worth while.

Well, this is the best price I've seen on A2. It's definitely worth it at that price IMO, just for ARMA 2 alone. You'd need Combined Operations to play DayZ though, and to get the most for your money. There's an immense amount of mods and maps for it as well, since it's been out so long.

DayZ can be played solo no problem, and is still enjoyable. There's also so many mod offshoots of it that you'd get a lot of entertainment out of just that, potentially. Try looking up videos by FrankieonPCin1080p and PsiSyndicate for some good idea on how DayZ can play out.

Question: I just picked up the ARMA II w/ Day Z mod on the current Humble Bundle. Does this play on the same servers as the stand alone Day Z game that was just released?

Anyone playing the standalone or Arma 3?  I'm fairly new and I have both and would like some friends to play with either. I usually play during PST after 7pm on weekdays and varies on weekends.

@ColFantastic  if you didn't get Strider's post...no they have different servers. Arma 2 dayz is a mod and then the standalone is a game of its own.
