For the Xbox One, the cable box needs to be hooked up directly to the console. For the Wii U, they remain separate. Is it possible to use the TV features of both consoles? Or do I have to choose one or the other? Has anybody found a solution to this? I haven't hooked my tv up to the Xbox yet...I'm wondering how I should go about it.

Is it possible to re-set up Nintendo TVii after hooking cable up to the Xbox One? Would I then need to Xbox to be on every time I want to use Nintendo TVii? Could I hook the cable box to xbox via hdmi but also to the tv via composite? Would it be able to output to both? That way I wouldn't have to change anything...I think.

Anybody have any ideas? I'll post this in the Wii U forum too and see if any solutions turn up.

Don't you just tell the Wii u which input is the TV, so you could have both but you need to turn on the Xbox to watch TV.
