Persona 4 Dancing All Night - Yes, a Persona Rhythm game - Fall 2014 (Japan), 2015 (US)

Cao Cao

CAGiversary!
http://p-atlus.jp/p4d/

A collaboration between Atlus and Dingo, for the Vita. Dance remixes of songs from Persona 4 were shown in the video, along with Rise, Yu, and an original character as dancers. Looks to be largely button-based, where you have to press the correct buttons in time with the rhythm.

EDIT: Much like how Persona Q is a reference to Etrian Odyssey, Persona 4 Dancing All Night is being abbreviated as "PD," or a reference to Hatsune Miku Project DIVA. Apparently, this is a collaboration between Atlus and the Project DIVA team.

EDIT: Fan-Subbed trailer added:

Famitsu's report is up:

http://gematsu.com/2013/11/persona-4-dancing-all-night-announced-for-ps-vita

- Storyline (Translated by Gematsu): "The story is set half a year after Persona 4, when Rise Kujikawa returns to the world of show business. Rumors begin spreading of a mysterious video on a certain website, which watched at midnight transports viewers to the “other side,” never to awaken again. And members of Rise’s idol group “Kanamin Kitchen” start to disappear. Persona 4 characters like Yu Narukami and Rise, as well as new junior idol character Kanami Mashita, are confirmed to appear as players “Battle Dance” against shadows in a mysterious world known as the “Mayonaka Stage.”"

- Playable Dancers: Rise, Yu, Yosuke, Chie, Kanji, Kanami Mashita (a character mentioned during Rise's social link arc as her idol replacement), and more.

^^No thanks. Definitely sounds like a cheap cash-in. At least I'll have FFX|X-2 HD on the Vita next year. It wouldn't be so bad had the 3DS and PS3 not received announcements for RPGs...

wait... a new game that brings in elements from 2 of the highest selling/popular/beloved franchise on vita is a cheap cash in as opposed to a HD remaster of a 12 year old game?

I'm referring to substance over cute and funny, I guess? I'm sure this game has a market, but as someone who thoroughly enjoyed P4G, I was really hoping for another RPG...and instead the 3DS got it instead.

Guys please saying Sega/Atlus not supporting Vita is really shame of you. Who on Earth do you think that brought you P4G, Dragons Crown and upcoming Conception 2?? Boooo.

Games developed by Atlus for 3DS:

  • Mahjong Cub3d
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Survivor Overclocked
  • Code of Princess
  • Etrian Odyssey IV
  • Devil Summoner: Soul Hackers
  • Shin Megami Tensei IV
  • Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl
  • Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars
Games developed by Atlus for PS Vita:
  • Persona 4 Golden
  • Dragon's Crown
  • Conception II: Children of the Seven Stars
So...excuse me for being a bit disappointed with the continued lack of support by Atlus when it comes to games/RPGs on the SP Vita.

I guess this is what happens when a company is bought by Sega: Shameless whoring of a franchise.
From what I've seen/read, this game was in development before Sega bought Atlus, so I doubt that they had much if anything at all to do with it.

And count me in for this. Will import if it isn't too text heavy. Hell, may even just because I love the music.

US site for P4DAN went up along with the P5 site:

Atlus' description (via Kotaku):

Funky Student isn't funky enough to bust a move with Rise and the rest of the Persona 4 crew in Persona 4: Dancing All Night for the PlayStation®Vita handheld entertainment system. The summer following the events in Persona 4sees Rise return to Inaba after spending the summer back in her old life as an idol. After hearing rumors about the Midnight Stage, she checks a certain website at midnight and sees a mysterious movie clip and, you guessed it, winds up on the "other side." Worse yet, she finds out her junior idol peers from the group Kanamin Kitchen are missing as well. She has no choice but to send an SOS to the Investigation Team to help rescue the missing idols.

Not even Riddle-senpai could have seen this twist coming: Normal battle tactics don't work against the Shadows on the Midnight Stage, but dancing does! Rise, the Protagonist, and the rest of the Investigation Team will have to dance their way to victory. 30 pulse-thumping tracks make up the new Persona Sound in this rhythm-based action game. P4DAN is made in collaboration with Dingo Inc., the company behind Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA (PlayStation®Portable).
