I am a Democrat because I trust government more than CEOs, I care more about the rights of the working class than profit margins, I'm anti-war for the most part, I'm anti-gun, anti-Israel, anti-Constitution (but not anti-American), believer in seperation of church and state, atheist, pro-gay marriage. I'm also pro-life, pro-death penalty and anti-welfare which are conservative values but the things I mentioned that are leftish are more important to me.

Registered Independent because I'm pretentious and arrogant. Both parties are a sham, I don't trust even a majority of them in either party, so rather than say I'm mostly Democrat or mostly republican, I'd rather have no affiliation with them whatsoever.

I intentionally don't vote in most major elections, or do write-ins.

My shit don't stink.

I think "independent" is a cop out. it's a way to avoid being labeled as a moocher (left) or as a war mongering racist (right). independent minded people are more likely to have libertarian or democratic tendencies (I base this on the Independents I know and what their opinions are)

That's fine and dandy. If you want more detail, I'm a freakish mix of extremely liberal/Libertarian when it comes to foreign policy, rather socially conservative, staunchly anti-war/intervention. Anti-illegal immigration, indifferent on legality of abortion, anti-ACA as it's written (good parts and bad parts, bad outweigh the good IMO).

It's not a cop out in the slightest. Barack Obama, Hilary Clinton, Mitt Romney, John McCain don't represent me at all. To throw away a vote on any of those assclowns would hurt my soul. They're all dangerous to me, for different reasons. If anyone affiliated me with those parties, I'd be highly offended.

Libertarian-leaning for sure, but too many of those guys are quacks, racists, and anarchists. That's not me either.

I don't think the personality/opinions of presidential candidate should have any bearing on what party you *mostly* align yourself with. there's dumbasses in every political party, and shitty presidents/presidential nominees in every party

Libertarian. Believer there is no in between when it comes to liberty and governing. Your Liberal and you err on the side of taking things even at the height of contention (guns) and factual uncertainty. Or you are Libertarian and revert to a hands off approach for the sake of eliminating conjecture and the betterment of society. Of course this is all contingent on the belief that nor Democrats or Republicans are stupid and uncaring and we all want the same things.

"I am a Democrat because I trust government more than CEOs, I care more about the rights of the working class than profit margins"

I mean that's cool and all but you know profit doesn't have to be a dirty word and profit with regulations (fair minimum wage) has provided jobs and a higher quality of life for society throughout human history. With America embracing these ideals more so than those in power of other countries who instinctively want to take from the rich or the "profiters" with continually disastrous effects. With Communism also taking the lives of millions of people through famine and oppression. Not saying Liberals are communist, but i'm just going in the complete opposite direction because I want no part of it.

OH HELL NO! The thought of getting my brain removed was too scary! I try to do everything I can to stop those people before they can destroy America. I educate my friends, family, and co-workers of the evil of the Liberal Agenda and how WE all need to stop it.

I am not a Republican either, I am a Conservative, and most of the time I vote Republican because there is no Tea Party, Conservative, or Libertarian candidate, but I will NOT vote for a Democrat no matter what.

I still don't agree with the survey, mainly because there is no real conservative result.

Yeah...man...there's like no middle-ground for political thought. Only Liberal and Libertarian. *puff puff pass*

Commie-ism totally killed millions of people unlike Capitalism...oh wai

Aight so the estimated death toll of communism is 85 to 100 million. Whilst it is "fashionable to mitigate the Red Holocaust by observing that capitalism killed millions of colonials in the twentieth century, primarily through man-made famines, no inventory of such felonious negligent homicides comes close to the Red Holocaust total."

Basically people died a lot when we had a rudimentary understanding of science. Capitalism or not.

79% socialist Lol what a tool.

This is especially hilarious coming from someone that thinks about "socialism/-ist" in the same way it existed as Nationalsozialismus rather than "democratic" in the Democratic People's Rupublic of Korea. It's like 25=15 because they both have 5's in the numbers.

I'd rather be 100% socialist than whatever the Fuck you call yourself.

Here you go:

As for the free market, well that was an ignorant little comment. If free market does not work then why not have the government take control of every aspect of our lives? Medical, education, everything. Why do you think communist states keep failing?

They're as communist as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea is democratic.

Real talk: Are you dyslexic or have some form of Asperger's?

Didn't you JUST state that communist states keep falling before I said that those states aren't communist? Where the hell did I make the assertion that communism is the same as socialism? I think it's YOUR turn to go find a post where I said communism is the same as socialism. If anything, YOU'RE the one using those terms interchangeably.

tl;dr: You say they're communist, I say they're not communist, and then you say that I think communism and socialism is the same? Wut?

Hold on a second. That was part of a completely different conversation in which I was arguing about different levels of government intervention. Someone said that government intervention is required to have a best system when it comes to healthcare. This is why I went beyond socialism to communism asking why not have the government take care of everything. Its not my fault if you can't keep up with the conversation.
