Unless you have Prime... Thanks for posting OP. It also looks like they have almost 500 instock. ME3 WiiU trades into Best Buy for $8... if that TIV holds up you it's close to a free rental.

Was there anything in particular that makes the WiiU version special like with Arkham City that would make me buy it when I already have the trilogy on PS3?

First and foremost, the game has been utilised to take full advantage of the Wii U's GamePad. Faulkner explains that "you can control your squadmates, utilise both Shepard and your squad's abilities, and even play Mass Effect 3 all from the GamePad".

The Mass Effect 3 Special Edition will also include the From Ashes and Extended Cut DLC, as well as the Rebellion, Resurgence and Earth mulitplayer packs, and a bonus heavy weapon.

An update of the interactive comic book Genesis will also be included, which allows those new to the story to get caught up.

I think it may have had some of the DLC already on the disc.

Also, it is rarer than the other versions.

Thanks OP.  Picked this up, the price is right and having just one game instead of the trilogy is a positive for me, I'm interested in the series but don't have the time to sink into three games.  The interactive comic book seems like a good way to catch people up who didn't play the first two games.  Sounds like the game makes decent use of the gamepad and off-screen play will be nice.

 
Unless something has changed in the past few weeks, this version didn't get any of the DLC that came out beyond what came with it. This includes the free multiplayer updates that the other systems got.
