I know, I know... the bailouts and TARP are old news... no one cares about them anymore - we have so many other topics to go on about now-a-days.

But for those interested, here's a nice rundown on ye-old bailout funds. Who received what, what they've paid back, what's been written off and given up on... The big winners and losers will surprise you.

Unless you knew all along that the American people were going to lose. Then, it's no surprise at all.

I am surprised by Citigroup being on the list of positives. My credit card just got transferred to them and their online interface is fucking horrid.

a lot more positives than I anticipated so your trolling failed.

Despite being a respected source, this only shows actual dollars giving directly and received. I think there is probably a halo effect for some of this companies...i.e employees kept job, they spent $$ on local services which kept other employed.

You do understand that paying back a ZERO interest loan on interest made by the loan is a farking awesome deal right.

If the shit I know of a gov't gave me 1 billion for 1 year with no interest and I just parked that money in a crappiest money market, I would of made around 20 million for the the year, and return the 1 billion back to the gubbermint while keeping the 20 million for no string attached.

And before people thing that just because the banks paid all that money back is a great thing, one difference is that ( example ) Citibank remains to be called Citibank and their numerous proprieties that they own are kept.

If Citibank failed who know maybe today it can be called FingerBank and FingerFields,  cause when someone fail someone will buy them back up and make changes.  Now these guys get to stay around and nothing changes.  Your new owners are the same as your old owners...HA HAHA !!!  Obama should know that pretty well :l

Paying back a interest free loan for all the above perks!! PRICELESS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By the way go to any bank and ask them to loan you a 1 million dollar loan, fark ask them to lend you a 100G loan for one year with no interest and you promise to pay back the full amount and not take a single risk with that money except to park it in a money market fund..  You just get to keep the interest and return the principle back to them

They will laugh at your face before calling the cops on you.

So FARK the banks and our gubbermint!!!

Oh, come on gang. Uncle Sam knows what's best.

He's going to take all of his money saving experience and invest it into health care now - that'll help keep the costs of health care down, doncha know?
