Just a heads up from an Insider

NYCgamer

CAGiversary!
Hey Guys,

As a gamer and someone with some friends in the industry I just want to give you guys a heads up on a title that has lost its license, will be discontinued and never made again. Since I was always a fan of the original and had to pay big bucks later on for my copy, these can still be had at reasonable prices.

PS3 , X360 AND VITA ULTIMATE MARVEL VS CAPCOM

Capcom and Marvel no longer have an agreement and Marvel is not looking to renew.

This game will only be able to be bought at rip off prices in the near future. Grab yours while you can.

regards

=)

Thanks for the info!

However, I think most of us know about it by now with the delisting of certain titles in the XBL marketplace and PSN.

We do appreciate you though trying to let us know about it! :)

That's a smart way to look into it. Never thought about their online catalog!

I do know since the Vita version was made at a later date they can still print that one for another couple months.

I do know for a fact however Capcom is completely sold out of PS3 and X360 physical goods in their warehouse so whatever is left is already in dealer hands so if a major retailer is sold out it is extremely unlikely they will get replenishment.

Picked up a used Vita version in case I ever get the Vita.  It was one of a couple games that I wanted on that system.  Should be able to get the $ back if I need to.

I didn't know about this till I went into Gamestop this morning and the guy told me, but then he also winked at me and gave me a shush gesture, so I knew it was good insider info.

I use to think this type of behavior also meant that he was interested in giving me his pro tip (literally), but I'm less threatened by alternate insider info-styles now.

Looks like everyone took advantage of the best buy low price and unlocked membership. i already own one but ordered a copy for my bro.

I would have but it wasn't available here and no shipping. Best Buy is a crap shoot sometimes.

i dont frequent the forum often but I will try to update this thread here and there.
I wouldn't worry about updating the thread. This has actually been WIDLEY reported and in fact, the license expiration has resulted in a number of games being pulled from digital storefronts already. PSN already lost MvC 2 for example. The thought is appreciated OP, but I would recommend you check out a few gaming news outlets from time to time like IGN or Kotaku. Your 'insider' friend probably just read the news like everyone else.

Now here is an interesting question.  As a person who has gone thru 4 360's due to RROD/Hard Drive crashes and had to redownload everything to the new system.  When I tried to redownload the Jill/(and weird guy) add on's from the collectors edition of the game to the new system, it said I had to buy it even though I downloaded it fine in the old system.  I take it that with all this shit my license for MvC2 is not transferable therefor I am shit out of luck even if I tried to download it again on my new system?

Check your download history. The SE download voucher was a special separate single download for both characters. I had the same problem on PSN, but when I dug up the original download out of my history I was able to redownload just fine.

So you actually transferred licenses to the new system and it doesn't work? Weird.

Pretty much common knowledge. "Insider knowledge" hahahaha. Yeah right. Everyone on the internet thinks they have inside insight and knowledge in an attempt to impress random internet strangers.

Doesn't effect me though because I don't buy digital products.

Just found about the whole licensing and delisting of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 and 3.  I should have bought MvC2 digital when it was cheap.

You'd think Marvel would have learned by now. Their games tend to not do nearly as well when they give the licensing to anyone other than Capcom. While there have been a few decent Marvel games from other publishers, Capcom easily has the best track record. Disney is calling the shots now, of course. Didn't Disney give EA an exclusive contract for Star-Wars games? Lets just hope they don't pull the same crap with the Marvel game license. The last time EA got the Marvel license, bad things happened.
