Fleamarkets of 2014. GO AMERICA!

Paco

CAGiversary!
Found this on the first.  After the death of Uncle Phil, I found a Republican looking for a government handout as my first flea market purchase of 2014.

Sega Genesis Model 1 (I believe)

2 wireless Sega Genesis controllers

1 wired Sega Genesis controller

Power + video cable

Sonic the hedgehog

Altered beast

Streets of rage 2

Total for everything $15

I grew up with the genesis. I still have the empty box and inserts to the original I owned and played on when I was five. Its for a model 2 though so I can't make this CIB unfortunately.

I need to go to a good flea market around the metro detroit area. I've never been to one around here. Except Gibraltar. But their game resellers were terrible from what I remember.

Picked up 14 brand new Doctor Who The Complete Third Series DVD sets for $5.00 a piece. No idea how the guy got them, but I'm not complaining (or asking). Also don't know how they were still around by the time I spotted them (~10:00am).

Got a few other good DVDs as well (used, though) - notably, Samurai X: The Complete Collection for $8.00 and S-Cry-ed: Complete Collection for $5.00.

Had a really good day!

A friend recently clued me in to flea market just outside of Baltimore, and I'm really digging it so far. It's the second time I've been there, and it's the second time I've found some pretty good stuff. This past Saturday I picked up an NES Power Pad, a GB color, Harvest Moon 2, MechWarrior for SNES, and a GBA cable for $20. Then I grabbed 2 copies of Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!!, Who framed Roger Rabbit, Krazy Creatures, and Mermaids of Atlantis for $3 each. The copy of Ninja Gaiden was from an estate sale I hit earlier in the day, and I got it for $2.

Bootlegs.

Anybody in the southeast Wisconsin area know of any flea markets aside from 7 mile fair? 7 mile has two different game reseller booths that buy up everything and mark it up. I don't even bother going.

My flea market years ago really was a good place to pick up some great deals... However recent visits have yielded disappointing vendors overcharging for most items...

Bootlegs.
I don't think so, these are 1:1 matches with the opened one I got a few months ago. The cover has foil sections, as well as stamped (raised) sections. The back has a single raised section as well. There's no glaring spelling errors, no low quality printing, and no off kilter graphics. If this is bootleg, I'd be incredibly surprised. I've seen a lot of bootlegs in the past and they're usually pretty awful and obvious.

The guy had other DVDs, too and none were worth being bootlegs - like something called "Wolf Mountain". I'd be more inclined to believe these came out of a storage unit. I've gotten other stuff like this from storage unit buyers in the past (notably - 75 new copies of WWF Summerslam 2001 and 50 new copies of WWF Lita, all on DVD).

I only have went to one flea market so far this year as the indoor ones around me are generally full of Chinese knockoffs and awful.

I did manage to score a Panasonic 3DO with no controllers (need to order a controller to test still) for $1 from one seller that does estate clean outs.

A Wii, N64, Xbox and Dreamcast all for $50 from a storage locker guy.

And from the shitty video game guy at this flea market (all PS3/360 games are $20 each and he had LOZ:OOT for 3DS and wanted $40!) he had a box of Game Boys marked $5 each that I bought all of. They were all missing their battery covers or in the GBA SP case the chargers. There were 10 in the box and I got him down to $40. There was an Extreme Green Game Boy Pocket that almost paid for the whole box.

picked the The Departed blu ray for $1 and an Xbox Live $25 card for $15 and of course redeemed code on phone before handing over the money, apparently their son won it in a FIFA tournament but only has a PS3 their loss my gain

Hit up a couple of flea markets this weekend and found a few things worth buying. At the first I got the following load of DVDs for $9, and at the next I got MediEvil for PSP and the stuffed Yanma together for $5. I got to the second flea market a little late so I found less than usual, but since this particular flea market doesn't advertise on craigslist I always find at least *some* good VG stuff there.

Bad Lighting is bad. Picked up Battalion Wars and Guilty Gear X2 for $1 and $2. The Anime was $5.

Picked up Marvel vs Capcom (Dreamcast) and Panzer Dragoon II Zwei for $1 each. Alien vs Predator Extinction was $2.

Got this for $3

I managed to get 4 new Zoids model kits ($2.50 each), and Gauntlet Dark Legacy for PS2 ($3.00) today. Pretty happy - didn't seem like the regular toy dealer was there today - otherwise those Zoids kits would have been long gone.

I got all this for $39 including my parking at the flea market.
Not the greatest deal, got them to practice mods with.

Got a pair of Beats Solo headphones last week for $20.

Got a pair of Beats Tour earbuds for $10.

I thought they were knockoffs, but the packaging looks exactly like my solos, the sound quality is just as good. My friend that works at the pawn shop checked them out for me, since he sees fake crap all the time and said his best guess is a factory second.

Seriously enraged right now - found CIB copies of Monkey Island 1 & 3, only to find out they were already sold. I've been searching for those for eight years. fuck!

Super Metroid! $5! Works up until Mother Brain who glitches out making the game unbeatable. Probably just needs some cleaning on the inside but I don't have the tools to open it up.

Hunh, weird, I've never heard of a cartridge game working up to a point then being unplayable. For me, it's either go or no-go. Have you tried swabbing out the connectors with alcohol?

Also, I'd high suggest picking up the Nintendo security. They are so friggin' useful.

I swabbed it off with alcohol after finding that, let it dry, I should try it again now that it's been a few days.

It's so good to be back at the Flea Market after the winter we had...

Videogame purchases: RE 6 (PS3 - Complete) - $5 -- for me, Michael Jackson Experience (DS - Complete) - $2 -- for the kids

Non-videogame purchases: Challenge Yahtzee (1978) $1, Flinch (card game) - $2, JK Rowling's "The Casual Vacancy" - $2, 15 years of Death Row (2 CD, DVD) - $1

Heavy Nova (Complete), Rock 'N Roll Racing (No Manual) & Castlevania - 13
Donkey Kong Country, Donkey Kong 64 & Space Station Silicon Valley - 15
SMS & 2600 Stuff - 5
Everything Else - 25

The 2 Genesis games were 2 each and Castlevania was 10 took 13. The next 3 games were 6 each but took 15 for the 3. These games came from your somewhat typical reseller types. No manual with Hang-On & Astro Warrior, Star Raider is missing the game itself & E.T. is complete (interesting weekend to find this). For everything else I asked about the NES stuff and it was 20 but the guy said I could have all of the game stuff which was in a plastic bin for 30 to which I countered with 25 which was taken. All of the NES games on the left have manuals. Pinball Quest hidden in the top left and if the NES games are hard to make out Snoopy's Silly Sport Spectacular! is the only other one that isn't really common or crap with Tyson & SMB3 being the best of the rest. Unfortunately the blue Game Gear doesn't have the battery covers has this is my first time finding a blue system.

Every few months I get nostalgic thinking about my flea market, which is huge... and decide to go check it out for deals... every time I leave empty handed from either lack of good things or affordable items I promise myself never to go again... same situation at thrift stores, though I do pick up clothes from them often

I have an urge to go to the Flea Market one of these days. But I have morning class on Saturday. Dammit. >< Just a week or so to go and I'm done with the semester.

Since I hardly find anything at Flea Markets, I was definitely satisfied with what I managed to find.

Studio Ghibli films were $2 each.

Shadow HEarts, Final Fantasy VIII, and the one without a cover is FF VII. Got them for $4. My friend has Shadow Hearts without the disk. Planning on asking him if I can have it. Also found Dragon Quest VIII, but it didn't have the disk :(

Nice find on the Studio Ghibli DVDs. Nausicaa is a classic. I never see Ghibli DVD's at our flea market.

No good DVD/game finds this morning, but I picked up some CDs...

All Time Low - "Nothing Personal" and "Straight to DVD (CD/DVD combo)" $ 0.50 each

Punk Goes Pop Vol. 2 - $ 0.50

Forever The Sickest Kids - $ 0.50

Naughty by Nature - $1.50

Ice Cube "Bop Gun (w/ George Clinton)" Maxi-CD Single - $1.50

Also found a Ghostbuster candy case from '84 and a small stuffed Kool-Aid man for $0.50 each.

Did okay at a flea market I rarely go to. Not great flea market prices but good for normal days.

Jade Cocoon (ps) no manual
Oddworld Abes Odyssey (ps) complete

20.00 for the pair

Klonoa 2 Dream Champ (GBA) CIB 5.00

Not bad deals but with 10.00 admission to get me and my wife in, not great. Meh.

Went to put away the Klonoa 2 CIB this morning and found the box bulging slightly. Took everything out and there was a cart only Rayman Hoodlum's Revenge in there as well. I'll take a bonus game, ha ha. Didn't have it so why not.

I got probably one of my best flea market hauls a week or so ago.

Sega Saturn console (+cords and 1 controller), with Alien Trilogy (disc only) and Resident Evil 1 (CIB)  $5!

Skyrim  PS3 $1

Darkwatch  Xbox  $0.50

Hitman 2 Gamecube $1

Star Fox Adventures $1

Star Fox Assault  $1

System Shock 2 (Jewel Case only) $1

Half Life 1 (Jewel Case only) $1

Got a few other goodies but I thought I would just mentioned the highlights.

Wow not bad at all

Yeah I know. The Saturn bundle for $5 is probably one of the best deals I've ever gotten at a flea market. I later found out that the Saturn has some trouble reading discs but for the price I can't complain. I've been looking into repairing it since Saturn Systems/Games are becoming really collectible nowadays. And, btw, the games work perfectly (tested them on a different Saturn).

I've had bad luck buying games lately... Everything's either garbage or overpriced.

I ended up buying Jawbreaker on DVD and Blood: The Last Vampire (live action) on Blu Ray for $1 each.

Went to a small flea market today and got a few decent finds.

Pearl Pink GBA SP+ (The one with the better backlight) $5

Cobalt Blue GBA SP  $5

Crash Team Racing PS1  $1

Crash Tag Team Racing PS2  $1

I just went back to The Barnyard Flea Market in Greer, SC earlier today. I frequented this flea market a lot in fall 2013. Since then not much has changed.

This flea market is pretty redneck-y and full of redneck Harley-Davidson bikers, and it's not for hardcore CAGs. Everything I saw was at average eBay prices, even the local folks were selling them at prices that I'm not quite willing to pay.

There is that one dedicated game vendor where that kid sells games and has a game system hooked up to the TV next to him. Everything was average to bad condition and fairly overpriced. And no one has really purchased games from him because the vendor is so unorganized and average price. I'd seen Final Fantasy IX still there and missing the case with just the discs and manual. :p

Picked up the following Atari 5200 games for $1 each:

The Dreadnaught Factor

Keystone Kapers

Space Invaders

Dig Dug

They had a few more games with a system but I already have the system and the remaining games they had.

Saw one of the local resellers that has a booth in the flea market, he was on the phone hanging around the booth probably talking to his son who sells the games online.  He was watching me the whole time and I found out why afterwards, he was having them hold a copy of Super Mario Sunshine.

I almost forgot to post this.  Found it a month ago for $2, missing the manual and the slip cover has some stains (and an odor) but the disc is pretty much scratch free.  The case was absolutely disgusting so I used a spare that I had.

Picked up Clock Tower 3 and Battle Legend Musashi for $12.

Lot of resellers today. Ebay Prices too strong foe me.

Found 3 MG Gunpla Sets but two were already built and a Titanium finish Sazabi was missing. Wouldve jumped at the lot if they werent built and if the Sazabi was there.

Picked up Darkstalkers PS1 for $3.50, disc only.  Also The Unholy War PS1 for $1.00, disc only.  There are no dedicated game vendors at the flea market, found them among CDs.
