I found the above tablet while at tigerdirect.com.  I have never owned a tablet before.  Is this a fair deal?  Do I have to subscribe to something or could this just connect to my current wireless setup at home?  I know this most likely a very low-end tablet, but it has to be worth $20, right?

Hello! I hope my posts helps, I've currently own 4 Android devices (both tablets & phones).

Let's get started.

Firstly, are you buying this bundle because you want the tablet or internet security? If you're buying this for the internet security, don't buy this tablet.

Now let's get to specs.

It comes with Android 4.1, but you'll probably never see an firmware upgrade in the future. Jellybean and ICS is a favorite of these low-end tablets. A 1.5 Ghz Processor is at a decent/somewhat good level and will run most games and applications fine. Coming from experience 4 GB is not enough for someone who wants to take advantage of their tablet however there is a microSD port on this tablet to support up to 32 GB. Shop around and you can find a pretty good deal for a microSD card.

After conducting research on Amazon, I have learned this tablet's screen is "dim" and not the sharpest image. If you're expecting a similar image to a retina display, I would recommend a Nexus 7. It does come with the Play Store, but don't expect to run a high-end game such as GTA on it with no flaws.

We arrive at the last part, and that's the build quality. Of course, like every other cheap generic brand tablet, you get what you pay for. Some people complain it wouldn't even turn on when they received it, but that's nothing uncommon. It will obviously feel cheap to the touch and will most likely break within months of use.

My Final Verdict:

Pros: It's cheap; good hardware

Cons: Unreliable; bad screen; low storage

Would I buy it?: No

Side notes: If you really want to spend the least amount of money possible on a tablet, go for it. Would I personally buy this? Never in a million years. My suggestion is to shop around for a refurbished name-brand tablet such as Samsung or Nexus.

Hopes this helps!

P.S. If you have a Wireless Internet Router in your home, you should have no problem connecting this tablet to the internet.

Thank you for the response. Unfortunately I went ahead and ordered it before I read all the terrible reviews about the software. I am solely interested in this for the tablet. If I don't like it, hopefully I can recoup my $20, assuming that I get the rebate.
