CAGiversary!
So, got the Zelda bundle from newegg. I haven't actually played any wii u games yet. I've only fired up Rhythm Heaven.

I'm happy I bought it and can't wait to try out the Mario games, Pikmin, and others, as well as hoping they'll bring back F zero in style similar to X. I've loved Nintendo immensely in the past growing up with NES through Gamecube, but they kind of lost me with the Wii, (For example I have over 500 PS3 games [mix of digital and physical], Over 150 360 games, and only about 20ish Wii games. As I'm getting a bit older and find myself with less time to devote to my favorite hobby I decided that I probably am okay with just my PS4 and no Xbone, and that the Wii U would make a good second system this gen(I also have a decent PC). But overall I'm excited. People may have written off Nintendo and the wii u because of a slow start but both the DS and 3rd had slow starts (not that I think the wii u will ever be even half as successful as those 2 devices). And Nintendo is in a unique position that it's never been in and hopefully we'll continue to see some high quality games and hopefully more original ideas. (I also find it a bit ridiculous that people have written off console gaming over the past few years because of the rise of mobile devices but the PS4 and XB1 are the two fastest selling consoles of all time. Sorry for getting off topic.)

Now to the question. I've sent my wii off to Nintendo for repair and am hoping to get it back soon to transfer my stuff to the wii u. However I have been wanting to purchase some stuff from the eshop. Does anybody know if I'll run into any issues if I purchase stuff now and then transfer over my wii data? That's kept me from redeeming my Zelda code as well. Just trying to avoid any potential issues.

Thanks and share your thoughts too.

I know when you transfer everything from the wii it won't be on the wii anymore (from the nintendo direct the other day), but I don't think it would erase your stuff on the wii u

I downloaded Nintendo Land and such awhile before trying the Wii transfer. It worked out well. The Wii has its own channel on the Wii U so it will be fine.
