Xbox One Titanfall Bundle- $439.99 after checkout from TigerDirect via eBay

Not bad at all!  I don't think I'm charged tax either.  Would've ended up being $13 more than the X1 for $399 I got from Amazon.  Titanfall and 1mo Live but no Forza.  Probably would've been worth the extra $13.  I just wish I could've used my $100 in Amazon credittoward the X1 purchase but it wasn't in my account at the time.

Jesus Christ. I'm not usually one of those guys who screams "WTF, I paid way more just a few months ago", but...WTF, I paid $475 for the base console a few months ago and was feeling like I got in at a good price! I'm enjoying the console, but gottdamn, a pack in game and $60-70 price drops inside of 6 months? Learned that lesson.

If I can get to the confirm and pay screen at the $440 price does that mean no tax will be applied?  I only ask because just about everywhere else online charges me tax (including amazon and newegg) and that's why I haven't taken up one of the xbone deals yet.

So:

1. Don't buy at launch

2. Don't buy bundles for console price + discounted game price

3. Don't buy bundles for just the console price

4. Don't buy bundles when they further drop $50 from just the console price

*Apply mathematical induction here

I'm just going to wait until it hits the $400 sweet spot for the Titanfall Bundle.

Either with no tax or tax included with the price.

This is Cheapassgamer right? it should be part of the creed.

anyway im still waiting.....

The lesson is: don't buy a videogame console again. I personally am going to stop buying videogames as well because they drop in price and have GOTY editions out less than a year later.

Yep if you get to the pay screen and no tax is shown then that's the price you pay.

Anyway, to compare this to the X1 Forza bundle I got from Amazon for $426 total. This is $14 more.

440 - $3.33 (XBL 1 mo) = $436.67

I'm sure I couldn't get much for Titanfall now. I'd say $30 is safe. $436 - $30 = $406 I basically paid $20 for Forza 5, it's all good. At least I don't have to bother selling Titanfall, though I probably could've sold it pretty easily.

I remember someone telling me that you won't be able to get an Xbox One for under $450 for a very long time. I can't remember who that was though.

Heh..I'm shocked like many others are shocked. But maybe we shouldn't be. MS really shot themselves in the foot. They buried themselves under a pile of shit with all their BS and now can't get themselves out from under it.

I'm starting to question whether we should even be buying these deals at all. The system really seems to be failing and as consumers we have all the power. MS is really getting desperate and trying to win people back. Maybe we shouldn't be giving in this easy.

I got that 15 percent off Ebay email a few days ago if I use their mobile app..wouldnt that make this 373.99 just wondering if I can use it towards this purchase the promo expires tomorrow but Ive never tried it before also what is TigerDirect's return/exchange policy if the XBOX ONE is defective in anyway

I have a hard time listening to the Doom and Gloom train the CAG threads have become because I owned a 3DS at launch and it was deader than the XBoxOne. XBO has only been out five months. I'll wait patiently to see how it unfolds.

$340 or bust for me for an Xbox One. If it doesn't drop to that in a years time, no biggie, got a huge backlog to keep me going

Don't buy consoles. Or PCs. Just buy a 3DS

It'll drop more by summer. Just think of how much it has dropped in a few weeks.

Getting deals is all about holding your nut.

Wish I had gotten that email.

Iw as going to buy it but the Texas tax pushed it over what I would be willing to pay.
Did you see the Newegg deal? If you don't pay tax there then you can get it even cheaper.

I still don't know if it's a good idea that we buy all these though. MS really seems desperate and may come crashing down. We're saving their billion-dollar asses. Is it really worth it? The way they seem to be crashing down, if we hold out the deals will get better and better. They may just keep this price and do alright. Maybe we should be more patient as consumers and watch them tumble until their giving away consoles.

I hear you. TigerDirect is one of the few that doesn't charge TN tax, so this works out close to what the Amazon Forza bundle would have been for the short time they had it at $400. If I had a 15% off eBay coupon, I wouldn't hesitate, but since I'd have to pay cash, $440 is more than I can justify right now, even though it is a great deal.

But everyone is already declaring use tax as required by law, right?

(yes, I'm unable to write that with a straight face)

I was just about to do it, it would end up being 373.99 for me after the Ebay coupon I just dont know if I should do it, tempting but just not sure..what is Tigerdirect's return or exchange policy if the XBOX ONE is defective

Wow that's nice. I'm pissed I don't have that coupon. Would maybe return the Forza one coming from Amazon and save $50 by going with this.

I could've sworn I've seen that coupon before though like on the front page or something.

I went to final checkout and supposedly if you have a coupon on your account it will auto apply so I guess I don't have it.

You are covered under eBays buyer protection so if anything is wrong you will not have any problems getting your money back. Its an incredible deal if you go through with the purchase.

That's exactly what they'll do. it'll be a digital code not a physical game that you can lend to friends.
Ah no sorry I should have been more clear. Back in 2009 Tiger Direct posted a Xbox 360 Pro Console with LEGO Indiana Jones/Kung Fu Panda for ~$90. Listed in the Video Game Hardware section, with the UPC of the bundle, etc. etc. Tons of us on here bought them, I purchased a spare for my bedroom, one for my brother for his birthday, and 3 for friends who wanted one but didn't use eBay. They ended up just shipping the pack in game with no system, put up a fight about accepting returns. I got them to agree to take them back and they told me to refuse the package.

However, they only refunded me for the purchase price of one and when I opened a case with eBay they automatically closed the case because I had refused the package which is against eBay policy and invalidates Buyer Protection.

So long story short - Tiger Direct messed up on a listing and after struggling to admit their mistake they gipped me out of ~$360.

Oh wow that's crazy.
Yea it was a colossal shit show. A few of use fought it, negative feedback, cases, BBB, hell I even called the local Attorney General's office to get the legality of selling a "Not For Resale" bundle item as new separately (it is not due to tax reasons, can be resold as used however).

Obviously, everyone is entitled to do as they please but with my history with them I wouldn't order from them no matter the price. Their customer service is extremely inconsiderate and useless should you run into any issues if you are even lucky enough to get a response from them. Worst experience I ever had with any major business.

Hell, they tried blaming the Xbox 360 mess on me. They said something to the gist of I must have trouble understanding the English language if I thought they were offering the system bundle at that price.

I hate MS for all their policies and their low res box, but the price of $374 (with 15% coupon) without tax made me buy it.
I dont think I will find a better price for this low resolution box during black friday

I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I bought a Playstation 4 on launch day, and the Titanfall bundle on release day. So far I have only played Titanfall on Xbox One and Need for Speed Rivals and Knack on PS4. The PS4 definitely looks more impressive graphically, but (and this may not come out right) the Xbox One feels more "next gen".

From all my experience the Playstation 4 feels like a far more powerful Playstation 3, but the Xbox One between the voice controls and media functions compares more to the feeling of the Playstation 3's strengths as an all around entertainment system. Neither is a bad thing, Playstation 4 probably leans more to hardcore gamers, while Xbox One more as a central media hub that plays games. I think for serious gamers it will eventually be worth having both consoles.

As for Titanfall, it is loads of fun and that is coming from someone that normally does not enjoy multiplayer.

However, if Microsoft ever tries to flip flop back to their DRM policies my Xbox One will be dropped faster than a bad habit.

EDIT: Also just realized I didn't post this but with all that goes into the Xbox One's UI there are a good number of quirks, glitches and annoyances but I would consider those early adopter woes that will hopefully be ironed out soon.

thanks for the input and advice.

In this new generation I swore that I only was going to get a PS4

I lost interest in XBONE and honestly I was starting to hate it, because of the BS that microsoft pulled, the low specs that it has and on top of it the Kinect gimmick.

Im a harcore gamer, not interested in the cable/TV feature that Xbone offers.

the logical system for me is PS4

but,for $374 and without tax, I think Im willing to take a risk on the low res box and Microsoft's BS.

could be, especially with the news from m$ restarting the plan of loaning /sharing plan digital xbox one games coming back. a discless/ no disc tray version xbox one seems even more possible in the future, as a way to entice people to buy a discless xbox one.

Not a problem. I used to always get new consoles on release but between the backlog and less time to game I have been getting more selective. Wii U was the first I skipped (still waiting on, probably until new Zelda).

For Xbox One even though I loved my Xbox 360 first the lack of first party support in 2013 left a bad taste in my mouth and then the whole DRM/always online fiasco I am still somewhat upset over. It may seem petty but I like paying money for tangible goods, not digital where my ownership is at the whim of the content provider. As much as I love games if we ever see Digital Only gaming I may rethink being a gamer. Couple that with the back to back launches and I decided to wait a few months to see if they tried pulling anything with the DRM policies.

As for the Xbox One, even if you don't plan on using the TV/Media features there are still cool features you can benefit from. I was fairly anti-Kinect before getting the system and when I set it off I turned off all the Kinect functions it allows. But a few days later my friend came over to play with the Xbox One as he was debating getting one as well and he wanted to try the Kinect features and through watching that I decided to give them a try and have enjoyed it.

What seems like they would be stupid little things like automatically logging you in when it sees you, redeeming codes just by holding it up rather than typing in all the numbers now make it feel like going backwards when using PS3 and 360 which is how a cross generational gap should feel. However, I am also a tech lover so I may be more predisposed to things like that.

But hell, even if you want nothing to do with any Kinect features or other media functions the system has I still think it makes owning both worthwhile. Your X1 may not get as much use as the PS4, but over the generation I am sure both systems will have great exclusives that no gamer should have to miss out on.

The X1's choice of RAM is the biggest thing that befuddles me. Lack of RAM was one of the most complained about issues developers had with systems last gen that I kept reading about, I don't understand why they would short change themselves when I am sure a company like Microsoft would have access to GDDR5 RAM at a small price increase compared to GDDR3.

I read that this morning on IGN. The quote that they still believe in the system they pitched last year has be skeptical of their plans. I hope they don't have anything like that planned.

Wow that's unbelievable. I've only ordered from them one time. I ordered a Blu Ray and they sent me one that was listed as "not for resale" meaning that they sold me a part of a bundle that they weren't allowed to sell. That's all it took for me to know that they were a scam/not legitimate company.

Single-use targeted coupon, or something shareable?

I received a 10% coupon for eBay which brings this bundle down to $395 for me. I'm pretty sure it's tied to my account though. The other one I bought from Amazon was $401 after tax since I had a $30 promo credit. I'll just keep the Amazon one since you don't get that credit back if you cancel your order or return it.

Reading the comments to that article is eye opening for me. It seems many people believe in Microsoft and the future of all digital. I assume these people are willing to buy $60 digital games without any means of recouping the cost.

they probably are willing to buy $60 for digital games, seeing as they believe digital media is the future.

Not bad enough that there aren't suitable digital sale prices or that you don't really own it (Marvel Ultimate Alliance DLC ring a bell?) but when I redeemed the Titanfall code that came with my system it took 5 hours to download. I understand that servers were likely bogged down hence the slow download speeds but that would not be acceptable in a Digital Only world and I have casual gamer friends who would DEFINITELY not be okay with that. Hell they barely find 3 minutes to update a game acceptable.

As a disclaimer because I don't want people to take this the wrong way. As I have said in this thread I think it is worth owning both consoles, and I would take issue to either Sony or Microsoft making a digital only push as I am sure both are interested in doing so.

That's why some of us were happy with the original MS plan. The disc games would be able to install and then you'd never have to use it again. Download speeds wouldn't matter and you'd still get the benefit of quickly switching titles without the disc inside. But oh well.

Oh and if your download speed is slow, make sure your NAT is open or check on a wired connection if you're using wireless. Also, the One now has a built in speed test so you can make sure its downloading at full speed....check your network settings.

I can definitely see the upside for some people who don't like discs. For me, I am OCD. keeps everything clean, organized and enjoy the process of admiring my collection wall and switching discs, reading paper manuals etc.

But the ability to buy used and sell used is the most important aspect.

I don't buy games unless I want to keep them. I've probably sold/given away fewer than 5 games in my life. I loved the digital aspect. And to say that MS never does digital deals is insane. There is actually a thread on CAG that is weekly updated with games, DLC, and other digital content, usually at incredibly heavy discount. The only thing that tweaked me about MS (I'll leave the dollar sign out because I'm not 12) early Xbone plans was the always on/once a day connection. That seemed intrusive, unnecessary, and I wouldn't want to be at my ISP's mercy, router/modem hardware manufacturer's mercy, or others, to determine when I could and couldn't play games.

But the idea of signing in to a friend's account to access my game library, installing a game from disc once and accessing it anytime, (there was going to be a method for sharing/loaning games-the misinformation machine from Sony and bloggers was unbelievable).

I have notebooks of physical discs, enjoy the game art, and it's fun to unwrap a new game, but if I can get digital for cheaper (and with some frequency I can) the convenience and price was going to be very, very intriguing.
