I recently purchased purchased this bundle, but instead of the Forza code card being inside the console box the employee had them separate and handed me one.  He seemed hesitant to do it though, leading me to believe that there was some confusion as to whether or not he was doing the right thing.  And now I'm curious, does the Forza code on the card work without being activated or did the employee need to do something to make it work?

The reason I ask this is I already have the game digitally so I don't want to redeem it to see if it works.  I want to sell it to offset the cost of the bundle but I don't want to hand out a bum code and get burned.

Anyone else bought the bundle at Wal-Mart and had a similar experience?

Vendors sometimes will repackage existing product with pack-in games and codes to make them "value" or holiday bundles.  MS has done this in the past for the holiday bundles for the 360, where they would pack in games in existing boxes and put stickers on the outside.

This is something like that and the code should automatically be live without needing to be redeemed.  Assuming the XB1 works the same way as the 360 did, you could enter the code in on the console (and only the console) and it would tell you if it's valid and what it is, with a choice to redeem or not.

yes, you  should be able to enter the code on the console and it will tell if you it is valid and what it is for.  That will help you figure it out.
