Buy PS Vita or PS4?

I was interested in buying a PS Vita to play a lot of the PS one classics I enjoyed in the past, but after doing some research I realized just how expensive the PS Vita really is...

The system itself is $200, plus a decent memory card (I would opt for the 64gb) $100 + games would leave me about $350 plus in the whole...

So I realized that at that price (for a handheld...!!) I might as well buy a PS4.

Should I get a Ps4 now, and neglect the PS Vita, or should I get the Vita and buy a PS$ much later down the line?

Thanks for your opinions and input

Ps4 1st than a vita I say. Unless you are in need of a mobile gaming experience and don't already have a psp or 3ds.

Buy the ps4 1st unless your going after portable gaming. Also ps vita will go on sale so would t buy it at 199 right now. Ps4 on the otherhand will be msrp for probably a year or so with some deals during bf and xmas.

My impression is that Vita owners survived just fine with 32GB memory cards up to now, so 64GB seems like overkill if you are concerned about cost.

More importantly, handheld gaming and console gaming are completely different experiences IMO. Do you want to game while out and about? Then the choice is obvious.

Buying something just to play PS1 classics? Then wouldn't a PS3 (or PS2) be more cost effective?

I would buy a vita.

This is my plan of attack right now

There's no games right now that make me want to buy a PS4, but there are some vita games I want so my decision is easy.

I'll prolly end up buying a ps4 within two years or so though (unless I get one as a present earlier)

If you are gonna buy it today, I'd go with the PS4. Sony has no need for a price drop since XB1 is $100 more.

But...You say you want to play PS1 classics. How do you plan to do that on your PS4?

If you can hold out, I'd go with a Vita. Wait for something like a $30 off sale like BB had at Thanksgiving. Two 32 GB cards can be a better deal than one 64GB because you can hold off on getting the second 32GB card. I found my 32 at BB for $48 (after tax). It sure isn't full.
