I guess you can listen to Wombat's other podcast, Uninformed Opinions.

I think the Ninja Turtles live action TV show with the female is on Netflix, or at least it was. Also for Infamous Second Son, the Paper Trail extra quests are pretty fun using the Internet and the game.

Persistent diving bell game FTW!!  I've never been the type of person to go to midnight game releases but I've already got my tent and rations packed and ready to go once this game is announced.  There's nothing better in my mind than being able to wave at other players with a mechanical claw while observing the sea life around me!

Good show.
I am not a fan of the metacritic score on amazon. I am not a fan of metacritic ratings to begin with. Having a low score next to a game will deter people from buying it. I don't see how this will be good for amazon at all.

DId Shipwreck create a video game genre term? The "Fumbly"?    Will we start seeing First Person Fumblies, Stealth Action Fumblies, or Role Playing Fumblies?

Wombat . . . even though Frozen has many songs, THE Frozen song is obviously "Let it go."

As for the show "Jessie". . . we stopped letting our daugher (who is 6) watch it. It portrays adults as idiots and the amount of talking back is absurd.  I think that show needs a "Very Special Episode" where Luke falls off the balcony.

Well this was the first podcast of any type I've attempted to listen to. I got about 10 minutes in and gave up. I didn't dislike it, I just don't understand why they exist.

I played the ESO beta. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't that great either. After experiencing the whole TOR fiasco, I'm skeptical towards any new MMO. Which is why I think ESO will be traveling the same path that TOR did/is. And it's not like I'm against MMOs - I actually started to play WoW again last month.

Danke for the show fellas!

@Cheapy:

You should really give Adam Sandler's comedy LP a listen.  It's an absolute classic representing sophmoronic college humor in the vein of Animal House.  With the exception of Hotel Tranny (which is very underrated IMHO) his movies are complete crap but that comedy album LP launched a one billion dollar career of filming poopshoot.

I'm out for Wombat's warhammer giveway.  Give that one to somebody who wants it.

Nerd-voice call-out in the show feedback, right off the bat! I'm tempted to shoot for it again, but perhaps it would be best not to kick that particular hornets' nest. Insufferable pretension definitely seems to get the crew's attention.

Thank's for the mention fellas, whiny nerd-voice and all!

I agree with Cheapy, Arrow was quite good, watching Oliver being systematically outplayed was quite entertaining. I feel like Agents of Shield is on the cusp of goodness, but it just isn't quite there. I am hopeful things will hit the ground running in season 2 once they can start with a season long arc in mind. Though with Whedon being busier next season with the next Avengers movie, it could go the opposite way as well.

Re: The Xbox One interface, what do you expect, it's Microsoft. They are the king of figuring out what works and then jettisoning it to sell something different. It's why every other PC OS they put out is crap.

It's possible they were originally doing to feature a real tribe and then legal told them no since everyone is so easily offended by any tiny little thing. I do think it would have been much sillier / stupider to gain powers from totem poles, "the spirits" are not the source of his powers after all.

Gotta love when Cheapy and Wombat are at each other's throats a little :) hopefully it is played up for listener enjoyment, but either way it's fun to hear.

And I would take that free copy of Warhammer 40K.

I get the business that led to the meta critic on amazon but i find it a bit distasteful.

so how in the fuck am I going to eat cheetos or smoke a cigarette witha stupid vr thing strapped to my head??

Sorry Cheapy, but Wombat owned you in your argument about Metacritic and Amazon. He was even on point with the counter-slam you when you brought it back up. Great show.

Metacritic did use to have an option to buy the game you were looking at the review for on their site.  It was something like a buy now with a price and if you clicked on it, it took you to another page that showed prices from multiple retailers including gamestop and ebay with the cheapest listed on top.

I don't really get the desire to get a Netflix box.  Whats wrong with the PS3 or 360 that you have almost assuredly already boxed up?

Oh, and Towerfall is pretty awesome.  Protip, a Vita hanging around counts as one more controller.

A couple of things...curse you Wombat for the Xbox Volume Up O:)

I know 2/3 of the Cagcast crew are Apple guys, but I thought Universal Apps coming to the Xbox One was a big deal.  You pair that with the DX12 news from the other week you have a really interesting confluence of events.  Devs can now quickly apps that will appear on the PC, tablet, and the Xbox One.  The second big deal about that is devs can now have you buy once for the PC, phone, tablet, and Xbox One and have it applied for any other Windows device you use.   That combination of ideas could be enormous for Microsoft over the coming year.

It has been a while since I have seen an update on app or a game on the Xbox One.  Do you have it set up to update in the background.

I use them to pass time and here different view points. Plus, I'm gonna start commuting in August 2 1/2 hours every day so it's nice to have in the background.

Cheapy D, are you suggesting that Microsoft should've given Sony free reign on sales and released the Xbox One later? I personally think they made the right move and they are fixing things/adding features every month.

Did you say "Xbox, Select" to bring up the voice command options on that update screen? Pressing B when launching a new app (like the Games and Apps section) should also take you back to your last running game or app.

Wombat, The Yes command when turning off was a bug of the March update, which is already fixed in the April preview that will be released soon. Also in the April update, game and app updates are much more streamlined and as long as your console is in Instant On mode, they should be updated automatically.

I agree. Cheapy also pulled out some classic douche argument tactics such as saying "I don't know why you are getting so upset about this" and claiming he didn't say things he clearly said.

I love the CAGcast. It's one of my favorite moments of every week. I listen to a few different podcasts but the CAGcast is always a priority listen. I also listen to a few different podcasts on the Adam Carolla network. I only mention that because:

Amazon affiliate links. Every episode, they're always advertising "click through our site to Amazon to support us". I was wondering if it would help out the CAGcast/CAG if you were to do the same? I would love to click through an affiliate link before I buy nipple butter or diaper cream for my wife and baby. The GoDaddy ads are getting really awkward. It's clear you're not making much from them and clearer still that GoDaddy just has a gross feel to it for far too many reasons.

P.S. That Diving Bell guy is what's wrong with everyone on the internet. For fuck's sake, chill out.

P.P.S. That Diving Bell cover design is brilliant.

edit: I forgot to mention that I buy $1,000s through Amazon for my employer every year. I click through Adam Carolla links but I would really rather that money go to Cheapy.

Ugh Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic are both homes for pretentious overly critical and negative journalism. It drives me nuts how harsh game critics are becoming to match their movie brethren. It seems like the negative reviews are highlighted for being "critical" when really they are just whining or complaining about most small things. Mario 3d world, same formula done over again, infamous second son, too short, diablo 3, too repetitive after they spend 50+ hours with the game. Apparently everything now has to be a masterpiece or it's just a dissapointment. It makes reviewers and critics sound like whiny spoiled brats. Well any ways just tired of all the negative criticism. I enjoy many games, movies and systems but find peoples reliance on meta critic and rotten tomatoes to be very disheartening. Lots of people enjoy Adam sandler movies, bioshock infinite, and the wii u, etc

I think it works both ways. I can think of a few pretty decent games that have a crap ton of horrible user reviews from the loud minority for reasons that don't have a ton to do with the game or average person.

ESO seemed kinda cheesey and generic the little bit I tried of it.  I think it will be a big bomb as a subscription MMO.

I didn't see anything there that cried out this is the next step in MMOs.  I'm not seeing the $15/month going over well with the console crowd on top of paying $60 for the game.

What's the review for the FireTV going to be like next week?

Well it plays Netflix.  And Amazon on Demand.  It is small and has a remote that does the job and I like talking to it.  It only doesn't understand what I say 1/4 of the time.

You gotta buy the controller otherwise ....yawn city.

Yeah, that is true but it's easier to ignore the amazon reviews since it's much smaller on the screen. I don't even look at amazon reviews for games, movies and music. It is mostly useful for everything else though.

Even though there's no mention of it anywhere, Goat Simulator definitely supports the 360 controller.  I've never not used it.  I think having to figure out what's mapped to it is part of the tongue-in-cheek tongue-on-protesters charm.

In for Warhammer 40K.

Wombat was right. Also where is CheapyD finding all of these itunes giftcards?

When you really think about it; all joking aside the Dick Kain experience is actually what's going to be the driving force for compelling Virtual Reality content and the in game format doesn't have to include any of the traditional gaming tropes to be successful. No more chasing high scores or boss fights are necessary. Imagine VR experiences such as: Climb Mount Everest, Explore Paris, Drinking and Fighting in Irish Pubs, Welcome to Toontown or Roman Orgy. Once AI technology reaches the point where you can have an interesting conversation with a digital character...Zuckerberg's $2 billion dollar gamble will have paid itself off many times over.

They can do this in games now. What do you think SkyRim is? It's climb mt Everest, explore Paris and drinking and fighting in Irish pubs rolled into one.

Putting on a helmet doesn't change much. It gives you head tracking and more all around vision, but otherwise nothing else is going to magically change.

Ironically the Wii U does some of this Diving Bell 2-player stuff and it has tours of real life locales for a $1 or $2. The controls are a combination of looking on your tv screen and using a joystick and/or using your Gamepad screen to look around. It isn't animinated, but it uses Google Streetview tech.

Wombat appears to be right about Titanfall. The 360 version just came out, and yet there's barely any chatter about the game on the internet anymore. I think a lot of people were expecting some Call of Duty Big Red One cheap knockoff, but it appears the game is actually pretty solid. It seems that Microsoft might have delayed and buried it simply because it was too good that people might not see the need for the Xbox One version. The result, however, seems to be that the internet buzz is dying off quickly for both versions.

When is it too late to put out a patch for a video game? The reason I ask is that PlayStation All Stars had a huge patch come out, but the game has been out for almost a year and a half. I just don't quite understand why Sony would put money into the resources to create it. Am I missing something?

Maybe they intend to launch a PS4 version including all the DLC and they want to hammer out and test all the balance issues first on the PS3 version? Or maybe they intend to launch it for PS+ and they wanted to iron out all the kinks ahead of time so there wouldn't be huge patches for the vita version.

Wombat appears to be right about Titanfall.
Perhaps. He was clearly right about Infamous having more appeal on the PS4 as the first big exclusive after launch than it ever did on the PS3. It's already sold over 1 million copies in just nine days.

http://blog.us.playstation.com/2014/04/10/infamous-second-son-sales-surpass-1-million/#sf2530914

I wonder when we will get a sales number for Titanfall. It's been out for a month now and I haven't heard anything from EA or Microsoft.

I expected this. They will wait until it's out on 360 and lump the sales number into 1 to make it look big. Might backfire a bit since they delayed the 360 version, is anyone still interested?
