Gamefly restart membership for $1

Check your emails, I just got a promotional offer to restart my membership at $1 for the first month.

They do this from time to time.  Good timing considering all the kickass games coming out this month

I get this once in awhile also, you could end up getting some major savings on Gamefly subs with a little effort. I have 3 accounts I set up, all done when they were offering promo's where you got a one month sub for half price. Each time I chose the 2 games out a time, when my month is about up I go to cancel, click the box that says "too expensive" for the reason and then I get an immediate offer to get another month for half price. After that month expires I do the same thing except no offer comes up, so I move on. I did that for those 3 accounts, from that  point on I only sign up when I get an email saying I can a month for half off or $1. All subs for me have been 2 out at a time. Sometimes there can be a few weeks or so without an email, but the savings from doing it that way are greater than the benefits you get as a long time subscriber.

Meh. The 3-month gift certificates are better. Less B.S. and they're cheap enough.

hmmm, I'm sure if you picked the 1 game option the deal would be like 7.95 or something when you go to cancel, whereas I do 2 at a time and it's always been 11.95. Takes about 1 min to go through the process. not a whole lot of bs.. but I don't really care about missing a month here or there while I wait for another email :)
 
How are you guys able to maintain more than one account? I think the last time I tried to make another account, they sent me an email saying they cancelled my account because they already had my billing address on file (from what I can remember). But this was back in 2009/2010 though so I'm unsure about now.

 
I thought the gift certificates were only good for new accounts? Can I actually buy a 3 month and apply it to my existing account?

Yes, I've done it a few times now when they put them on sale. Basically try to keep a subscription with the Gift Certificates from sales.

 
Has their east coast shipping gotten better? I tried many years ago but getting and receiving games just took too damn long

 
I'd be interested if it didnt junp to like $20 a monh and if the games i wanted werent always out of stock. I tried it for one month but EVERY game i wanted to try was not available for the first 3 weeks. That and i dont play games often enough to make the $20 or so it costs nornally worthwhile. But those of you who are lucky and always get the games you want, Enjoy!
 
I can safely say that I probably won't be renewing with Gamefly after this latest trial. I normally do an extra 1-3 months of Gamefly here and there when there is a big splurge of new releases.

Since they apparently closed down the ATX center, I was stuck with the one over in Kansas, and wow.. The wait times were TERRIBLE. I literally only managed to rent two games. Ragnarok Odyssey ACE, & Toukiden. Both for VITA.

What's even worse is that I left my GameQ with only 3 games I really wanted at first.. DW8 XL (PS4), Ground Zeroes (PS4), and Demon Gaze (VITA). But after having waited over a week+, I just gave up and put a game with High/Available Now availability just so I could squeeze some gametime out of my membership.

Too bad the "High" availability game took about 2 days before having it was even acknowledged & shipped to me, then another 4 days for it to get here. Man, they either went down the crapper, maybe even the sudden influx of $1 Gamefly users. But either way, I can't justify nearly a week of wait time just to receive a game, when it used to take me 1-2 days when the ATX Center was around.

I live three hours from the KC center and it takes 2-3 days to get stuff. Half my games come from PA and those are usually games in the teens of my Q.

 
Before this offer the last time I was signed up for Gamefly was two years ago with another $1 offer and used to rent many Wii games. Back then the shipping center used was in Austin which took two days to receive but now it appears that shipping center has closed down and am being redirected to Kansas which takes an extra day. For me its not worth paying the same price for a slower service than before. Tomorrow is the last day so I have a strong desire to proceed with cancellation unless some of my referrals follow through but it seems unlikely.

 
Last time I re-signed up. They sent me a broken copy of Mario Kart 7 and shipping times were two days longer then what they had before. posted about it here. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/997614-nintendo-3ds/67352536

So, not even worth a dollar. It also took them a week to receive Catherine (PS3) back. They wanted to claim I was with holding the game and wanted to charge the full price. I e-mailed back saying I never kept any of gamefly's games before and complained they didn't give me extra days for the broken MK7 3DS cart. 

So honestly, screw Gamefly's rental arm IMHO.

Shipping times seem to suck pretty bad this time, but I definitely got my $1 worth. Got to play all the way through the #1 game on my list. Debating on whether it's worth sending 1 or 2 of the games I have now back with less than a week left to get another game before I cancel.

i picked up a 3 month membership for 27 figure 3 games 8 bucks each rental..

So far grabbed

Boarderlands 2 vita (hated it ) controls fucked it over for me

then renting

MIND ZERO

Hyperdimension Neptunia PP

would be the 3.

anything after that would be extra saving.

Link is indeed working, any idea if I can do a two-game plan if I only had the one-game plan?

The $17 charge should just be an authorization; even during the free trials they put a hold on the card for the full value of a single-game plan, just to ensure that people aren't using empty/low-balance debit cards to scam free games. If it hasn't dropped off after a week or so, contact Gamefly Support.

nice man. $1 for 2 out. not bad deal. but thx to BBY, i'm kinda have too many games. cant beat the deal anyways, so pulling the trigger. 

 
first time in long time gamefly been good  for me this month. so far  2 at a time    5 games out for the month   though im leaving them in jan due to  nothing coming out and major  back log

 
Everything showed as $1 for me but ended up getting charged full price to restart. Contacted them and got a refund without a problem. You have to get an email from them for it to work apparently.
