I still have some sealed Jakks stuff. At least some of the first series. I know it included Taker, Razor, Goldust, Diesel, and a few others.

Best thing I have from the early Jakks run was the Kane with removable mask - that is, from like 1997-98, years before he actually took it off. Reasonably sure it was the cost Ksane figure. Probably shouldn't have opened it since it was one of those "only two per box" things or whatever, but I had to see what they did. It was really odd...just a dude with a goatee that has a bizarre red tattoo-looking thing on the right side of his head.

Sorry guys but the original WWF ring was the LJN one.  Pretty sturdy piece of plastic.

The rings now are terrible. I loved the Hasbro ring. Used to use it for G.I. Joe figures since they were way more articulated than the Hasbro figures. So many creative moves you could do, etc.

The Mattel Elite Scale Ring is a fucking beast .. like 24 x 24 or something around there. I don't have the room for it or I would honestly have a display set up.

Someone tried starting a wrestling figures thread here a little while ago, but I think I was the only other person to post in it.

Here it is. http://www.cheapassg...stling-figures/

I'm a bit late to the party but my two cents....

I feel the WWE Network while it's not perfect so far by any stretch of the imagination has been pretty good overall. I did complain vocally during its early days that I felt they should have beta tested things more before the official launch and while there's far fewer issues now than there was then I still run into occasional ones. The worst ones is getting randomly disconnected from the live stream during PPVs on my PS3 (happened once during the last several events) and once while trying to load ECW from 1995 having to exit out and go back to it just to get it to load. This is a vast improvement over the early few weeks and I hope they manage to work those kinks out.

As far as content goes I'm pretty happy with what we got right now. Despite some annoyances with music changes on ECW TV (some of the music changes are pretty funny to be honest) I am enjoying watching these shows in far better quality than your typical ripped from some VHS tape on YouTube upload has. Not to mention stuff like the round table programs which are very fun to watch.

I hope we'll get more stuff like full episodes of WCW stuff, the ECW TV episodes from the TNN/Spike days, perhaps some other companies like AWA and WCCW added. I'd imagine there's quite a bit of work that goes into prepping any of the archival stuff to being added on the Network beyond just transferring the show from tape to whatever digital format they encode the show into.

As far as live PPVs they are still advertising all 12 PPVs this year and the six month commitment is still in effect despite whatever lunatic nonsense slidecage says. And speaking of slidecage dude it's not that hard to have the Network on your HDTV. PS3, PS4, XBox 360, XBox One, heck you can even get the entry level Roku devices for cheap and those work great with the WWE Network. Point is stop making weak excuses on why you want the WWE Network to fail and start enjoying it. This is a huge bold move that the WWE is taking and the price point is amazing. Why do you want this to fail for what it offers you? I just don't get it.

New sig coming soon.

I wish I kept my wrestling figures in the package way back then. I wrecked havoc on them back when I was a kid. Now I just want to collect them in box like most action figures.

The numbers for The Network are out. 700,000 current subscribers. They had 667,000 on April 7. They added 161,000 since then, but lost 128,000, so a net gain of only 33,000 subscribers.

I wonder how they tally the lost subscribers when the initial six month commitment isn't even up yet? Just people who call up and cancel, or turn off auto renewal?

Probably cancellations, turning off auto renewal and people who's monthly payment was rejected.  Apparently it was pointed out that you can do the six month commitment through Paypal(& pay less for it) and stop payments after the first month.

WWE will continue to offer the $9.99 per month price point if you commit for 6 months but will also offer one month with no commitment for $19.99.

If you only care about a few PPVs a year, well, there's a discount from the usual price. I'll probably just stick with the 10 dollar one.

Still say the biggest thing they need to worry about right now is abusive account sharing. Don't lock it down and make it a huge inconvenience for subscribers, but this crap with 7 or 8 people sharing one login needs to stop.

maybe people who use a one time credit card and then   just dont  reload it?

First i never said i hope they  go belly up, i said something will change and they will have to go back to cable to last.

not sure how many people will do the 19.99 a single month instead of  9.99  per 6 months.  or how many would even do  pay 6 months in advance.  Im happy paying the  9.99 plan a month now but will jump to  cable once its offered

i still say the 19.99 per month is still getting  ready to see how many people will bite at this price cause this sounds something like what would be offer on a cable plan.

and to those who said  THEY WILL NEVER GO BACK TO CABLE

It’s the rollout of the network in August in new markets that’s expected to help get WWE closer to crossing the milestone of 1 million subscribers. The timing of the launch is “SummerSlam,” WWE’s second most popular PPV that will take place again in Los Angeles on Aug. 17, as well as the addition of new shows like “The Monday Night War” and “WWE Rivalries.”

In Canada, WWE signed a new 10-year-pact with Rogers Communications, the country’s largest cable operator, through which it will continue to distribute its weekly “Monday Night Raw” and “Friday Night SmackDown” shows, but also offer the WWE Network as a subscription-based channel similar to HBO. Access to the network will be provided on digital devices when individuals prove they’re a Rogers customer, similar to how people now interact with HBO Go.

It  might be  CANADA ONLY NOW  but i expect it to be  In the States  sometime in 2015

Now this is just stupid news

In addition to “WrestleMania,” WWE also produced May’s “Extreme Rules,” which saw PPV buys decline from 231,000 to 108,000; June’s “WWE Payback” (67,000 from 186,000) and “Money in the Bank” (122,000), also in June. Overall, it sold 1.06 million PPV buys during the quarter, less than the 1.6 million a year ago.

I would not  worry about  PPV  BUYS  if that means  CABLE.  the number is down  due to the fact of people going to the  Network, so  last years numbers  have no impact on this years i would not think.

Since I had a 3 month trial to Hulu Plus, I decided to watch the Raw's leading up to Battleground over the weeknd and watch the following Raw live. Even though Hulu cuts down shows to 90 minutes (they didn't include the Swagger face turn but I did watch on Youtube) this works better for me than waiting weekly for new content.   In the meantime, I was pleasantly surprised to see EVERY season of NXT available on Hulu Plus so I have been watching since Season 2. Season 3 is 100% new to me and involves divas. I'm surprised how good it has been. Even WWE Network doesn't have all of NXT up yet, right?

Speaking of WWE Network, the #1 problem I had with it when I had the trial was the lag. Every device I had tried it on gave me a problem (2 minutes of video with 5 minutes of  loading on my laptop, caused my tablet to crash and restart itself, Xbox app and PS3 app wouldn't even load a menu screen)  until I tried the network on my netbook and it ran well after a few tries.

I bring this up because I don't have these problems when I watch Netflix and Hulu (except on Xbox 360 which loves to hog power).  In fact, Hulu gives you the choice between low and high (sometimes medium) connection speed to help improve your viewing experience. I know the WWE Network is all about HD, but why not give us that choice for those of us with less than spectacular internet connections?

The 700,000 result is sad but doesn't surprise me. I do hope that number goes up once they open access to other countries. They still need to work on connection speeds though.   Other than that, I would rather start a paid subscription on a PPV I look forward to the most - the Royal Rumble. That way I'm guaranteed Wrestlemania [and KOTR if they ever bring it back].

WWE Network only has NXT from episode 207, I believe. The whole reason I subscribed to Hulu Plus last year was to catch up on NXT. I'm that dude who watched every episode of every season, on TV and on WWE.com. But from the time NXT became the developmental territory til the Network started, episodes were only on Hulu.

FYI, you don't need Hulu Plus. You do for WWE's other shows, but not NXT. Every episode of NXT is on regular Hulu. I subscribed to Plus to watch on my TV, but now I just use the PS4 web browser for stuff like that.

This. Right now the account abusing is what's really hurting the numbers more than anything else.

As far as WWE Network on cable/sat I never once said there wouldn't be potential for that to happen as remember the Network was originally going to be offered on cable/sat. I just don't get why slidecage is so clingy to something that probably won't offer you the amazing VOD content that the WWE is currently offering with the online based Network. Unless if something is worked out where if you subscribe to it on say DirecTV and you still get access to the WWE Network online with your DirecTV online account then I find getting the linear streaming channel by itself a waste.

Interesting that they are charging twice as much to get one month by itself with no commitment. I don't think that will lead to many new subscribers even for one month but at least it's an option for someone who wants to get one month of the Network just for say Mania.

would not have to stream it the  VOD  part of the channel would list  all of the stuff.  Look at comcast and streampix  at how many movies they offer.  All of the wwe stuff would fit very easy onto its own  VOD channel on a cable device.  I say still the 19.99 a month plan is too see how many people would buy it at this price  due to  fact  This is the price that will be offer (would of been offered ) if  it started out on a  cable  VOD  channel

I have great internet, and still had issues that trial week (and the entire first month, to be honest).

It's been smooth sailing since then though. If you have slow internet, you shouldn't even be attempting to stream -- if you want to stream (and in HD at that), then pay for higher tier internet. I tried to cheap it out with DSL for a year, but it's just way too damn slow for HD streaming. I ended up caving and paying for cable internet and haven't looked back.
