GBA SP Charging Failure

I have a GBA SP (cobalt blue) which will not charge. I cleaned out the charge port, confirmed there's no issues with the charger (it charges my DS & other GBA SP), and purchased a replacement battery. Still will not charge.

I may just give up and scrap it, but seeing if anyone has any suggestions.

Do you mean it doesn't hold a charge or that the charging light never even comes on? If the battery is not an official Nintendo replacement battery you may try one of those. I don't know if I'd trust some of the random 3rd party ones.

 
Yea, I already have a backlit SP. Just would be nice to have this one charging too, in case my son wants it too. He's currently using an original GBA with batteries which he loves (no backlight).

 
I'm not entirely sure but my cousin had a similar issue with her DSL. Turns out, something happened with her charger because when I used mine, it charged/worked fine. 

If you have access to a spare GBA SP charger, it might be worth trying. But trying to find a spare GBA SP charger might not be easy unless you know someone or have a small mom & pop game store that'll let you try one if they have it.

I have a second charger. Same issue with that charger, too. Thanks for the suggestion, tho.

 
I retried everything again with the new battery I installed in the GBA SP, and it is charging fine now. Not sure if I did something odd the first time after I repaired it, or what - but looks like the new battery has saved the day.
