In making a transition from console gaming to PC gaming, I've decided to load up my PC with emulators for my old systems so I can pack them away, and as an added bonus, experience them in 1080p on my 45 inch TV (this includes Wii since Wii U does a pisspoor job of upscaling and I already finished Mario 3D World). I've got Dolphin and PCSX2 working to a point (still experiencing a lot of hiccups and glitches, even though my computer is MORE than capable of running them, but I'll figure it out). Project64 is also a bitch-and-a-half to get working properly since every game is either glitchy or tries to run in super-speed, but once again, I'll figure it out.
Anyway, I haven't truly dabbled in emulators since the 90's. I'm seeing a lot of all-in-one emulators floating around now. This would be great for me, since I'm a Steam Big Picture user, and a lot of these all-in-one emulators like Retroarch have controller support. I could just add it in Steam as a non-Steam game shortcut and have access to all my old games in 1080p with smoothing and upscaling options all from Steam, while my actual consoles stay packed away in the garage.
Retroarch, however, is hideous. It's also lacking a lot of features that I remember loving about the standalone emulators. Is there a no-brainer, go-to all-in-one that everyone's using nowadays, or is it better to just stick with the standalone, single-console emulators?
