Good gaming headset?

im looking at getting a good headset for gaming. Mostly for my laptop and when i build one my PC most likely. I dont think id be using it with my Xbox or ps3/ps4 but i guess it would be nice if it would work with that. WHat are some good brands to look at? Althought ive never heard of them, i do see Astro's mentioned a lot. If i was gonna look at them which model should i look at? Seems the A50 or A40 would be the way to go just at a glance. I dont really care about wireless, so are A40's just as good but wired?

If you don't care for wireless then yes A40's will do the job.

are they worth the price or are you just paying for the brand? They seem prety pricey. Also im not sure what that extra mixer thing is and if its needed
