Memorial Day just isn't the same without Circuit City around.

I miss the days of grabbing loads of DVDs and games on the cheap and sharing them with friends every Memorial Day and Labor Day weekend.

My most coveted find was the 2-disc DVDs of the original Star Wars movies with the non-anamorphic theatrical versions.

Got my copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas there. Only time I ever went in there since it was the one of the few places that didn't card or rather had employees that didn't care since back then the ID thing wasn't a big issue like it is now.

Haven't heard that name in a long time... what happened to him? Didn't he get threatened with a lawsuit for posting CC ads before they were supposed to go out?
I think this was when there was going to be a ps3 price drop, it got leaked and they got pissed.

Circuit City Stores, Inc. v. John Doe, A.K.A. Speedy1961

In July 2007, a user with the avatar "speedy1961" posted information from an upcoming Circuit City Sunday newspaper ad flyer revealing a $100 PlayStation 3 price drop. Weeks later, Circuit City subpoenaed CAG Productions, LLC in an effort to obtain speedy1961's identity.[5] To fight Circuit City, CAG hired an attorney and filed an Objection and Motion to Quash the subpoena.[6] In February 2009, after declaring bankruptcy, Circuit City filed an order of Nonsuit, officially ending the matter, keeping "speedy1961's" identity a secret.[7]

Way to go CheapyD. Keeping sources secret is some deapthroat stuff. Like that the good guys won this time.

I remember right before they went out of business they had a huge list of PS3 games for $5.  My buddy and I hit every Circuit City near and far.

I remember going into my stores and seeing all the strategy guides marked at 90% off yet ringing up at $7.50.  Yeaa, gotta love those $75 strategy guides with the $19.99 SRP printed on the back.

Of course, now Speedy is working under cover for Cheapy until his debt is repaid. That would almost make a good movie. Of course, David Lee Roth would be Cheapy's nemesis. And the big finish would happen at E3.
