I am trying to get as much money as possible for selling my old game collections...

My PS1 collection only netted $300 on ebay.  I was wondering if there is a better way to maximize profits.  I know these collections aren't worth as much as that one was.

Pull out the items that sell higher (Suikoden V, Shadow Hearts, etc) then sell the rest either individually or in lots. You could also list here and see what you'd sell. I know there are a few titles I'd be interested in (DDS2, MMX Collection).

I just don't want to be selling things for barely anything after the costs of shipping and stuff.

I sold my PS1 collection on ebay.... and it went for way under what it was worth.  Then I had to give like 10% in like seller fees?  It kind of sucked.

Most of the sports games are probably better off sold in lots since they won't fetch much and shipping will eat too much into the profits sold individually. As for the higher price games, there is always craigslist or glyde if you don't want to go the e-bay right. Glyde isn't too bad on fees, I've sold newer stuff there and I haven't had any problems.

I made a trading list.  I think I am selling it all for $250+shipping.  Let's them flip the games for profit and let's me get rid of everything.

Did you sell them as auction or Buy it Now? Auctions are hit or miss, depends if you get lucky with a bidding war between two eager buyers, but I find that BIN listings consistently get more value if you are willing to be patient.

If you don't want to mess with eBay for all of them, thelonepig had the best suggestion. Go on VGPC.com to check each title, and for the ones that do sell for more, I'd list those on eBay (as BIN, not auction), and the rest get rid of here on CAG or Craigslist in a bundle. You won't get as much, but they will move faster.

What was in your PS1 collection?

Lots generally sell for less than what the individual items are worth, keep that in mind.

My PS1 collection was a large collection of RPGs mostly.

I will go off the top of my head.

Xenogears

Vanguard Bandits

Ogre Battle

Vandal Hearts

Valkrye Profile

Star Ocean 2

Suikoden

Suikoden 2

Final Fantasy 7

Final Fantasy 8

Front Mission 3

Chrono Cross

Grandia

Vagrant Story

Lunar

Resident Evil 3

Dragon Valor

Legend of Dragoon

Saga Frontier

I am undoubtedly missing about 10 games from the list... but this is about it.

Suikoden 2
If you did end up bundling all of those PS1 games together in a lot (including this one), then I would of definitely sold the higher dollar ones separately as BINs. Suikoden 2 alone can be worth $120 or more if in good condition.

I bought those PS1 games back in the day.  Suikoden 2 I bought day of release.

I sold them for that much.

I know I could have gotten 400+ for them, but I knew I would end up with ones I couldn't sell... and I dunno why but that bothers me.

What sucks was it went for only like $260 then ebay took a cut of it I guess.

BTW, if anyone is interested.  I put up these collections for sell on the Trading thread.  For $250+shipping costs.  Which is wayyyy less than what it is worth.  I have an offer to buy it for that amount.  But, anyone else is welcome to jump in if they wish.

I am ever gonna throw in a PS2 if you want it.  (Adds to shipping ofc).

Since someone PMed me asking about the condition of some games and if black label or not...

I have 3 greatest hits games.

Red Faction

Devil May Cry 3

Final Fantasy X

Both Shadow Hearts games are black label and in EXCELLENT condition.  I see no scratchs on the discs.  Manuals etc.

Shadow Hearts 3 is sealed.

What lonepig said.

Take out the higher priced games and take real solid pictures of them (good lighting, each side and angle).

Pictures can be the difference between selling for $30 and selling for $50.
