Went to leave for work this afternoon and had no brakes at all pedal went all the way to the floor. Was able to turn around and get the car back in front of the house. Looked underneath the car and see a constant drip coming from one of the brake lines about the middle of the car on the passenger side right between the front and back doors. Now I am in kind of a pickle I do have a local mom-n-pop shop I trust but I couldn't even get it towed there till Monday morning since they are gated up with no drop box. And after that who knows when they could look at it. I could also get it towed to Pepboys (nationwide chain place) tonight and they could at least look at it sometime tomorrow. Now I have never dealt with a brake line before is it something where the whole line needs replaced or can they splice in a new section and just fix the split part?

Thanks,
Anthony

If it's steel/aluminum there is no way around it, you will need to replace it as it's not safe to repair it. if it is rubber you can repair it/section it. I asked my hubby for you who is a gear head, he rebuilds cars all the time

Depending on the age of the car, even if it's rubber you may want to replace the whole thing. One leak only leads to another if it's older.

It's really not too hard to do it, and they aren't super expensive. Autozone should have the parts in stock if PepBoys needs to go get a line. I'd say if they can get the parts, they can have you back on the road in an hour or 2.
