Wondering if anyone knows of brick&mortar stores, like Target/K-Mart/Wal-Mart/Best Buy, that might have the fat xbox's 250gb external HD on sale or maybe clearance?

Was looking at GS and they want $69.99 plus tax, that's a bit out of my price range...

I don't buy online, nor use ebay, so I'm limited to actual stores.

There are other HD models that are compatible with the 360. You buy the HDD and a enclosure, and it'll work.

But I don't think they sell those HDDs new anymore. Might have to try to find a used one on eBay.

As I said, I don't use eBay. At all, Ever. Nor do I ever buy online.

Also not comfortable doing a reshell myself either. Don't care if it's easier than buttering bread, I only want an official HD.

Alright then, guess I'll have to go visit each local store and see if anyone has any left in stock.

$129.99 is Waaaayyyy out of my price range. I've been posting on the local craigslist looking for a cheap 250gb but the closest I've come is a 120gb for $20, but passed on it since I need the 250gb or bigger.

Since you want official Microsoft products you're only going to be able to get 250 or 320. Microsoft never made any other hard drive sizes for the slim and E models

I don't have a slim, I have the old fat unit as I said in the op. Currently have two 20gb hard drives that I swap back and forth. Sizes for my system are 20gb, 60gb, 120gb, 250gb, 320gb.

Praxus07 man, your reaaaallly limiting your options by not buying online. Why don't you buy an amazon or ebay gift card in a store like Walgreens  and buy online?

If you don't wanna do that then cool, I won't push it any further.

I dunno where you live but if you have a CeX or Microcenter near you, those are two places to check out. I seen a  fat 250GB at Cex for $40 a few weeks ago and Microcenter was clearing out all those old HDD awhile back. You can check Microcenter's website for locations (they don't have many in the US) and store specific clearances.

Nah...I'd had issues with eBay/Paypal years ago and will never use either again. Amazon...I blame them for the last local bookstore closing, so won't buy on there either. I just don't buy anything online anymore.

Never heard of Cex nor Microcenter either, so doubt they'd be anywhere near me. And yeah, just checked, closest microcenter is a 2.5 to 3 hour drive. I'll just have to keep reposting to craigslist till something comes up.

Didn't realize dinosaurs still existed

What kind of deals do you expect then, retail is always going to be retail and you save alot by buying used.

Especially if you buy something on ebay you are protected pretty well.

IDK retarded concepts, maybe I just don't understand them
