Does anyone play? Has anyone played? I was thinking about playing it with the English patch but wasn't sure what to expect. Does the F2P model hurt US-based players without access to in-game money?

Ive seen people stream on twitch and it looks like even with the english patch there's still a lot in japanese. I never really wanted to put the effort towards installing it.

The English patch makes it fully playable for sure in English.  I played a few months ago with an older patch and could get the gist of what was going on in the story.  It just wasn't that great.  Wasn't enough of old PSO to have nostalgia/merit, but was too generic and mediocre to be it's own game.

I still on and off play PSOv2 on the PC custom servers due to love for the game.  A shame this never traveled to other regions though.  Maybe if it was all in English I would have enjoyed it more.

Thanks for the feedback. I love PSO and was hoping 2 would finally be released here. Maybe I'll just play some Dreamcast instead.

Depending on your ISP you need a VPN to play now. After their servers got attacked I am no longer able to log in. So I'm holding out for either a fix on their side (lol) or this coming to the west (lol again).

PSO was the best game on Dreamcast (yeah I said it).

It even didn't use the broadband adapter so we had to use netzero accounts (don't ask how we made it work ;) ).

That being said, I've played PSO2 on an older patch and if it wasn't for the constant need to keep it updated after every patch I would still be playing.

As for the english patch itself it is very basic for just the essentials.

Storyline was still very much in Japanese.

I really can't understand why they're delaying the west release so much.
Revenge for not playing PSU enough to keep it active.

I played PSO v2 on my phone on my flight home from Phoenix today. Even offline, the game is still a lot of fun.

Oh my god. There is a dreamcast emu for android. That is awesome. I wonder if there is some roundabout way to get that working with Schthack.
