Surprised there wasn't a thread already.. A place to discuss TLOUR.

I got my copy on Sunday, never played the PS3 game (I didn't get a PS3 until November 2013 and by then I was sure to just wait for a PS4 version). This game is ... very very good. It looks glorious on the PS4 and at 60 frames it runs beautifully. It's been a really rich and atmospheric play so far (i'm maybe three hours in.) I am taking my time, looking around, reading all the little notes and things left around. Really good fun so far.

Multiplayer is interesting never played anything like this before. I am just okay at the moment sometimes I have really good games others pretty poor. I guess its just another learning curve to master. But it really good fun and different. It's a little annoying as if you play in games where parties are allowed no one speaks on the headset obviously and if you join non-party games still no one speaks! I've played 3-4 hours online and come across one guy who spoke. I guess playing with friends in a party is the way to go as coordination is key!

Overall I am super impressed and glad I waited, can't wait to get deeper and deeper then run through the Left Behind DLC. I wonder if successful they will release some new multiplayer maps for this game eventually?

Also bare in mind some people like me never played the PS3 game so please label and be careful with spoilers!

I'm also playing for the first time. Enjoying it so far, Just finished the museum/capitol area. Haven't tried the multiplayer yet, will probably get to it this weekend. PSN name is the same as here for anyone that wants to add me.
 
That's awesome that you guys are enjoying it so far. It was my game of the year last year and maybe this year too, once I play it again.

i got my copy yesterday and will start it tonight. I played on PS3 and was/still is GOTY. I'll add you, from Az,USA. The multiplayer is kinda odd especially if you are not good and even your own team talks shit about you lol

 
Played the PS3 version and picked up the remastered. One of my all time favorite games so I have no problem rebuying it for the PS4. This should entertain me until the holiday games start coming in.

Just curious, but does anyone else's PS4 sound a bit louder while playing?

I noticed a difference however this is the first game I've played since the latest firmware update. I ran through Wolfenstein (twice) and never noticed the noise... however their are more quiet "stealth" parts to TLOU so maybe the noise from the console is just more noticeable.

I only tooled around in "Left Behind" so far in TLOUR but I could certainly here the PS4 and was surprised by the noise level

 
Seems like Multiplayer has gotten a lot better since yesterday now it's a lot faster finding a match and there doesn't seem to be as many connection issues. I'm also slowly getting better at multiplayer although I wish my team mates would start getting better. I keep getting matched with people playing this like COD and sprinting around skipping lock boxes and rushing into their deaths.

 
I started my playthrough last night, and wow, it looks SO good on the ps4. I played for a couple of hours but didn't progress all that much because I kept pressing L3 for the photomode lol I got some great shots, I really hope Sony implements this feature in all their upcoming games.

I played through the story and Left Behind on PS3, but never played the multi.  First thing I did with this version is play the MP.  Very, very good.  Will be my MP game until Destiny arrives for sure.

 
Getting a lot better at multiplayer now that I've played for awhile. I primarily use the 3 Burst auto rifle and think it's a very strong weapon in close range and it works well from a distance.

 
Does anyone know if the PS4 and PS3 share the same trophies? I only got 3 when i played it on PS3, but was considering getting the PS4 version. So if i got the PS4 version would those 3 trophies be completed already?

 
Did they fix the parts with your AI companions running around all around for no reason?

Nope. They also made some mp trophies easier on the PS4 version. For example, PS3 had silver trophies for getting 5+ kills and 0 deaths on the new maps.....ps4 version now only requires 5 kills.

Its the best weapon imo...esp for getting headshots. A good tip is to use Sharpshooter 2 or 3...you'll win almost every gun battle and makes headshots much easier.
 
I just finished the game took me just under 12 hours. Amazing game, glad I waited to play it first time on PS4.

Will go back through probably on easy + to get rest of collectables and stuff. Question: I just finished on normal, so am I able to go back in easy + to keep my stuff and collect the bits i'm missing. Then again one final time on grounded. 

But yeah amazing game, looks so good on PS4. Problem with a game looking so good is when the odd glitch or something happens it stands out that little bit more!

Also to people still playing, the bow is so good. I didn't think much of it at first but seriously max that thing out ASAP it will save your butt.

Still seems like a long wait time to find matches for me. I just tried this morning. It helps but it still took me over 5 minutes to find a match.

I'm disappointed in Naughty Dog not taking care of the netcode. Apparently many people are having matchmaking issues. Over at GAF, users in the TLoU thread are just trashing the matchmaking. Apparently, PS3 is fine. It's the PS4 that's having issues. This is really stupid. Fail.

Yeah I have been Having a hard time finding matches.

I play late at night/early in the morning if anyone wants to add me. Looking to play with people who communicate. Tired of getting steamrolled by parties.

Beat it on grounded the other night, still a fantastic experience even after 3 playthroughs on the ps3. I did have some difficulty at a couple of parts but it wasn't that hard at all. The shiv door trophy glicth on me though, Im hoping it pops on my grounded+ playthrough whenever I get around to that run.

As for the MP, for me the matchmaking is borked when im in a party, its takes a while to find a match. I have no problems finding a match when going solo. Also, I hate that god damn bow. I ran into a party of 4 all using it and we got destroyed!

I know next to nothing about TLOU gameplay, but since I have no AAA titles on PS4 I'm thinking of getting it. Would be a no-brainer if it were cheaper, but at full retail (or $14 off with this week's Target deal), it's higher than I usually pay for a game I'm unsure about. I've played and enjoyed all 3 PS3 Uncharteds (3>2>>1 for me) and the non-Naughty Dog Vita one (blecch), single player only. Is TLOU similar but with zombies (and not like UC1 zombies, hopefully)? Are there any good non-spoiler videos I can watch to tell if I'll like it?

The clickers aren't anything like zombies, and I feel like the larger enemy in the game is other humans. Other then maybe a review video I don't really know what kind of video to watch since they'll all spoil the story in some way or another.

If you enjoyed the Uncharted Games I highly recommend this I think the Story was a lot better in this game and the gameplay is overall a lot better.

 
Does anyone having no bars after the new update?

I tried to change my NAT from type 2 to 1 but still having the same issue.
