I'm looking to buy a vita in the future, and am wondering:

What's a good case for it?

Do all my DL'd PSP games transfer?

What cable do I need to transfer my Pinball Arcade games  from the PS3 to the Vita?

Where's the cheapest place to buy a 64G memory card. I got burned with the PSP not getting a big enough card, I don't want to make the same mistake again.

Get a Vita grip case with triggers.

All digital psp purchases can be transfered from PSN, yes.

You can transfer things wirelessly if I remember correctly. Or you can connect directly with your Vita cable that is included.

Costco seems to offer good deals on cards. I have a 32 and it seems to be enough for me. I don't carry everything I ever purchased on there though. 64 wouldn't be enough for that either...

In order of what you ask
http://www.gamestop.com/ps-vita/accessories/ps-vita-crystal-custom-case/98482 is the case I use, and it works really well.
As long as you use the same PSN any of the games from this list http://www.cheapassgamer.com/topic/281768-complete-list-of-pspminispsone-games-playable-on-vita/ will work on your vita
The charge cable that comes with your vita (most likely) uses USB to hook up to the main part, so you can use the usb part to hook up to your ps3, or you can just syn the two, and transfer over your local internet.
Supposedly, this is the cheapest place to get a 64 gb card http://www.superufo.com/products/psvita/PS_VITA_PSVITA___Memory_Card_64GB_Japan_Version.html

Thanks for all the tips. I don't know when I'll get one, but it'll probably be soon.

Any good JRPGs on it now or coming up?

P4G, FFX and FFX-2, Y's MoC, Dragon's Crown, Muramasa, Soul Sacrifice and Dragon Fantasy. Then you have most of the PSX and PSP RPGs.

And what's this I hear of a 1st gen's screen being brighter than the new one? What's the difference between the two?
OLED vs LCD. It depends on what you like. There is plenty of discussion on this topic on any message board including CAG.

From what I've seen, most people seem to prefer the original Vita's screen.  You can find those out in the wild for $200 new in some places (note that you'll miss out on the free pack-in Borderlands 2, if you care about that), or you can try to grab one on Cowboom used for somewhere in the range of $100-$120.

Among other JRPGs, Disgaea is great on Vita.  3 is out now, and 4 releases in a week or two.

You're not gonna be able to tell the difference in a side by side picture. You'd need to see it in person. If you can get a OLED, get it. If not you're still getting a really good gaming machine.

There is much written on OLED. Its the best picture on the market everything looks better on it, you name it: PS Vita, PSP, PS1, hell PS4 via remote play looks awesome on it. They ditched it for older, less expensive tech. Games still will look better than on 3DS.
