Walked back into the electronics department of my local Supercenter in Massillon, OH. They have a pallet filled with the 12GB SSD PS3s for $100. I know their quality is questionable because of the harddrive almost having to be upgraded.

Yea you could probably find a decent sized hard drive for like what? $50 and under? Looks like a good deal to me. Probably the only thing that would beat this would be a Black Friday bundle.

A brand new unit for $100 is a great deal. Refurb'd or preowned units with bigger HDDs retail for more, but you can invest into as big a HDD as you want, and if you do .AVI or .MP4 backups of your video content, use apps, use PS+ to get free games each month...it's worth it as a Blu-Ray player/App User/Game System.

Nice. Id grab one to replace my aging, original (HD upgraded) model.

Was this BF 2013 price? Or were they $150?

Either way these are hard to find in my area. I don't think they make the 12GB units anymore. For $100 it's a steal and there was resale value in these too

I wouldn't mind another PS3 at that price.  Although, I want a azure blue one or red as I already have a charcoal slim.

Thinking about getting my co-worker a hard drive for his super slim.  I don't know anything about the super slim.  Except that you need an enclosure, which I might look up later along with installation of a hard drive on a super slim.

He doesn't have Internet at his house, so a 160GB might be too much.  He says his 12GB is full and doesn't let him play/add more games than he already has.

This might work for some. Order the bundle for in store pickup. Then shoot Walmart CS an email with the picture, and ask for a price adjustment. The worst they can say is no. This method worked when the white Xbox 360 4GB went on sale.

I found it on the app. But it's showing a $199 price. And there is one in stock near me. Are you guys seeing it for $100 but just not in stock?

I can't find it on the app. Is there any chance of Walmart price matching if I can find it?

Even better idea above me
Walmart does NOT price match their web site.

Best buy has to confirm the price on their own computers.

Target is the most likely to PM it if you show them your phone.

i bet i know what happened, i read a recent article about the new walmart CEO and the challenges the company is facing.  their biggest problem is running out of stock on high demand items, compounded by hiring less and asking remaining employees to do more.  It said its become a huge problem, where pallets of unsold inventory is sitting around in the back and employees are too busy to move them out unless they are tagged as high priority sales.

i bet this one store just had a pallet of these older PS3s and someone finally discovered them and the manager wants to clear out these expensive items before their boss gets wind of the screwup.  Looking around in my state and california there are pretty much 0 around, I wonder if they were a 2012 or 2013 christmas item.

Stopped at a local Walmart, and called two others, but no luck.  This would be a great backup at this price.  Definitely YMMV.  Good luck to those that can find them.

I have found out when it comes to buying something that you are sure you will need to somehow upgrade it usually cost you more in the end and winds up being not worth it.  Especially in the computer era.   The low price has trapped me a few times along the way.   Get it if you just need one as a back up but if it is a primary save up the pennies and go bigger.  you will thank yourself in the long run.  12 gb is just absolutely too small.   that is so 2004

These are in stock at every store near me but I doubt they will $100. My local walmarts are terrible at markdowns.
If I go near one I may swing in just to humor myself but no special trips for ymmv deal. Any other store maybe but walmart is just so bad at these things.

Shit. Great price and Massillon is only about 20 min away, may have to pick one up.

I call photoshop!  lol j/k  Seriously though this is so YMMV I'd be surprised if anybody found another WalMart doing this at all.  Walmart, along with Sams are the two most YMMV stores for deals as it is, something like this ups that by another 10x's.

Even right now both my WM's have a tiny clearance section for the games (so that must have been sent down from corporate) but the prices are atrocious when compared to what others have been seeing.

i doubt they would have been able to make the price markdowns without the higher ups, they are only allocated so much per month for clearance markdowns, this much all at once would clearly be a red flag.

I called this morning because this Walmart is only 1.5 hours from me. They still had them in stock around 8 am. I asked if they had a lot because I couldn't go right away. The lady said they had plenty and that they just had to get them out of the back. Not sure I'll make the trip but I just wanted to pass the info on.

If you use the iPhone app (iPad app didn't seem to work) you can place the order for in store pickup at the $100 price, but only for the Massillon store. I did it last night and got the ready for pickup email this morning.

Thanks for the heads up on this deal. My PS3 has been running really slow and just acting up in general and this makes it so much easier to swallow having to buy a new one. This plus ~$50 for a hdd is a great deal to me.

I have a super slim, not sure of the original hdd size cause I instantly swapped it out but that had a bracket. Is it only the 12gb with no bracket?

Wish I could snag one of these for my daughter's birthday, but I'm in Illinois. This + a Disney Infinity 2.0 preorder would really make her day.

Anyone in the area willing to snag one and I'll pay cost + shipping + a reasonable amount for your your troubles? PM if you'd be open to helping me out.
