Heard it on the radio that Ms. Bacall has passed away from a stroke. Most of us know her from the Big Sleep and a few other movies where she was paired with her husband, Humphrey Bogart. And she had a rather long and storied career since then. She will be missed.
I heard at work she lived in New York City, at the same building where a boss's coworker lives. I was surprised that she was still alive, especially after all the smoking and drinking of that era, but looking at the pictures now, she was a picture of health.
