Walgreens has a 20% off coupon for the friends and family day today.

I know I know, this isn't much a deal for CAG BUT perhaps they can be used for PSN and XBL cards, which are carried there.

I went to attempt it once I got off the train but the line inside Walgreens was extremely long and so I can't check now until like 7pm.

If this doesnt work or has already been confirmed not to work I apologize and will remove the thread, I just figured if it did it would be a pretty solid deal.

The exclusions do list giftcards but I have never really dealt with Walgreens' system and am not sure if the PSN cards and what not register as giftcards like they do at pretty much all other places.

If someone wants to guinea pig it that would be great : P

Otherwise I am sure plenty of you pick up random stuff at Walgreens and so at least 20% off can help with that!

Damn. I just left Walgreens a few minutes ago but I had a tooth pulled and just needed my pain meds. Maybe I should have looked around but they tend to look poorly upon customers who are spitting up blood. But it's a good deal if it works on their Sandisk flash drives and mini SD cards too.
 
Ah man, wish this was for tomorrow instead of today!  My Lexmark inkjet printer is giving me the middle finger right now and can't print this out. 

Keeps either saying there's no paper, even though there's plenty, or a paper jam occurs whenever it actually tries to print.

If I ever become rich, the first thing I'm buying is one of those fancy color laser printers that I saw on college campuses.  One for me and one for my family members.

Color laser printers aren't that expensive. http://www.staples.com/Dell-C1660w-Color-Laser-Printer/product_308891

This was just with a quick Google search of color laser printer. They're probably even cheaper with discounts and sales and coupons.

But maybe this isn't fancy enough from what you're saying. I'm not entirely sure what kind of features the campus ones have since my campus just has a small one like this is the computer rooms.

I doubt if this works on cards. It says that it excludes gift cards at the bottom of the coupon. I guess we will have to see once someone tries
 
No dice on PSN cards. The coupon isn't scanning as valid. Friggin pain in the ass to get the discount.

The coupon isn't scanning as valid at all. I ended up getting some fillers of some 2 for $2 snacks to "hide" it, but didn't apply. Funny thing is that when they tried to apply the employee discount, there's no discount on the cards either.

On the bright side, I got 2 bags of chips, two packs of twix, and a couple bags of haribo gummy bears(the best ones!) for $4.67 because they made a mistake and manually stacked an additional % off that gave me more than 20% off gross.

I should also mention that I ordered a baby toy online this weekend and CS applied the discount. I'm guessing YMMV on that one.(edit: looks like they weren't able to apply it because it was a sale item, whoops!)

edit: For those wondering, the coupon is right on the frontpage of their website and it's where I pulled it from. The manager tried to tell me that the coupons are specific to Walgreen's rewards and employee accounts. I wasn't looking to argue with the guy and just wanted my snacks at 20% off at that point. :rofl:

Forget color and make that dream a reality! Go to Kinko's (FedexOffice) for the rarely-needed color copies. Buy a <$99 Brother Wireless Monochrome Printer for your house, and never have to worry about middle-finger printer problems ever again. Replace toner maybe once a year or two with a 3rd party toner for <$15. Time-tested, CAG-approved.

This. I bought a Brother HL-2270DW a few years back for about $75 on sale and haven't looked back. Toner replacements are $15, or about $5 for refill kits (online, not first-party).

The only reason I still have my Lexmark Genesis is for scanning purposes.

You guys have planted an idea in my head now. That exact same printer is on sale for $75 at Amazon and Newegg right now. Looks like it usually hovers closer to $99. I vary rarely print at home, but this would be convenient to have, and it's a nice price, and I have Amazon credit...

You won't be disappointed. For that price the printer gives you some VERY crisp results. On low res, it still looks pretty good too.

I did a quick Amazon search and they were a little higher than that. I guess I should start setting money aside.

LOL! I kind of want the option to be able to print out game case covers at home. If I'm going to go the black/white laser printer, anybody know a reliable color printer then?
