Looking for a good gaming shelf

Currently I am using a 3 tier open shelf, but with the fact I was able to get all of my older systems.. I need a much bigger shelf to store all my active consoles.

On the shelf, I have a PS2, 3 and 4.
I need one able to handle the 3 PSs, Xbox, and Xbox 360.

My Wii and Wii U sit under the TV (I use the Wii for GC games)

I need something better than my current set up, several cardboard boxes stacked vertically.  The games are all crammed vertically so they won't fall out, unless an earthquake or I run into it drunk.  lol

Thats what I use for my game systems. You could easily put 2 side by side. They are sturdy, open on all sides so systems get plenty of air, and they look nice while not being overly fancy. All of my systems fit neatly on each shelf with room to spare and dont stick out the front or back. And while it has a faux metal finish on the legs they are polished so finger prints dont show up on them, have a brushed stainless steel look to them and assemble quite easily.

I can post a pic of mine if you want to see how it looks.

I'd be afraid to break it.

Yeah, I'd probably fall on that thing when I'm drunk or too lazy to turn on the light in the middle of the night and step on the cat over-correcting.

What's the deal with Amazon not selling media shelves taller than 5 and 1/2 feet?

I currently have this bookshelf that I use for all of my games and it's a mess, it's clear I need to get a better shelf as well.

That isnt the one I linked. If you read some of the reviews on mine people spoke of it being sturdy, good quality of the glass and so on.
Aye, that one isn't glass.. I am just hoping it's pretty good quality.

As I said, I don't trust myself and glass.. I am.. a clutz.

However it is the same company.

I personally use Boltz for all of my audio/video furniture and storage. They are definitely more pricey than the stuff you find at Ikea and whatnot, but its absolutely worth the extra cost as thier furniture is built like a tank and will last longer than you will. Plus its made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty. Most people know Boltz for thier DVD stands, which is how Boltz really made a name for itself.

The two models I would recommend for gaming would be the Build Your Own Audio Video Component Tower Stand and the Build Your Own Component Stand. That way you can customize it exactly how you want it. The Build your own Audio Video Component Tower Stand has anywhere from 3 to 7 shelves.

Here is a picture of the basic 3 shelf unit:

You can add up to 4 more shelves on the order page. The shelves are 17½" x 19.75", perfect for holding gaming consoles along with the controllers. This is the model I currently use. I have a 5 shelf unit in my living room and a basic 3 shelf unit up at my cottage. Here is what it looks like with 7 shelves, the max number allowed. The glass is actually very thick and strong. You won't be breaking these shelves anytime soon, not unless you drop something really heavy on them.

The shelves are a bit bigger on the component stand, 24" x 22". This unit is aimed more at stereo components than gaming, but that doesnt mean you can't still use it for gaming.  They have a 7", a 10" and a 14" shelf. The unit shown in this picture has one of each size (14" on the bottom, 10" in the middle, and 7" at the top.). You specify what distance you want between shelves: 7", 10" or 14". You can buy whatever size you want and can arrange them in any order. Here are pictures of the base, along with all 3 sizes of the shelving.

I really can't give Boltz a higher level of recommendation. Thier furniture is amazing and so is thier customer service. All in all, we have purchased like 10 pieces of Boltz furniture over the last 12+ years and thier furniture never ceases to impress me. Again, it is more expensive so if your on a budget then these are definitely not going to be for you. Funny thing is, replacing cheaper furniture over the long run almost winds up being just as expensive as buying a nice piece.

I get it's personal opinion but... that is one god ugly shelf. It looks like an old bench.

I feel like for $200, you could get something with a more modern design. I wanted to get this (or maybe it was a similar model) when it was on sale for like $150, especially since the design seemed really functional with the little drawers for controllers. But it wouldn't fit in my car and most of my friends live in the city and don't have cars.

No Glass, that's my only rule.
I do not trust myself with glass.

Still I like that one.

This one is nice http://www.samsclub.com/sams/sylvan-ty-console/prod13860044.ip?navAction=

Though, will it fit PS2, 3,4, Xbox, 360, Wii and Wii U?

I got this.  If I had room for my gaming setup to go in there.  I'd just cut holes for air vents and cords.

The back part is just a couple pieces of thin cardboard.  Spent a couple hours putting it together.

For $30, I can't complain.  Walmart had something similar, but wanted $140 for it.

The only real bad part about it is that you end up putting two rows of games in each shelf.  Not sure if I want to do that or not.
