NewEgg Hyrule Warriors WII U $55 Free Ship with Eggsaver shipping

Not much of a deal. Hope not a re-post as I did search. Anyways I expect this game to drop in price but thought I would post.

You're basing the price drop on the fact that...

1) It is a first party nintendo game which traditionally holds its value until the bitter end or

2) Musou games like dynasty warriors holding on to their value really well until the next iteration of the game ?

Don't hold your breath on a price drop. You may get a sale on the game at the big box stores, but I wouldn't believe there to be a price drop any time soon.

Also, for those who do care, Amazon, Best Buy and Gamestop all offer exclusive theme based character outfits for Zelda and Link. No word as to whether these will be available on the eShop at a later time. Since Nintendo opened the floodgates with MK8 DLC, I'd wager there's a good chance you'll see these on the eShop 6 months down the road.

It was just announced via the Nintendo PR page that the character skin DLC given away exclusively at launch will be available for sale on the eShop in the near future. Just FYI for those wondering.

Well I think in this case it might be driven by the review scores this gets. I guess technically yes for NA/EU it is a first party published title but not technically produced by Nintendo but Koei Tecmo. Guess we will see what happens on that...

The latest and greatest musou games have not received "good = 75+" reviews since Dynasty warriors 4. It's really a cult following genre. Hopefully the game distinguishes itself from the others and offers some unique gameplay.

Thanks for that, now I don't have to be a dick and pre-order from all the sites and return them later.

I see this game not getting higher reviews than 6s and 7s

I'd wait for price drop unless you buy every dynasty warriors game and are huge Zelda fan

What about those who just want something else to play on the Wii U :). With my ps4 just collecting dust (beside the P.T demo) I've been waiting for something new to play, this looks like it might be it.

Wasnt wonderful 101 a first party nintendo game? The price dropped like a sack of bricks fast. Coming from someone that owns every single warriors game from last gen to now. They do not hold value as you claim they do. The only one i payed more than $20 new for was DW8XL complete and thats because i bought it day one. Will Hyrule warriors's MSRP drop fast? It could, but like most wii u owners im so desperate to play something on it ill probably buy it day 1.

No, but published by Nintendo. Hyrule Warriors might be in the same boat since it is not developed by Nintendo, but it does have a Nintendo name on it, unlike 101. So yeah, I am not sure how the price on this will swing, but I am essentially paying 54.99 vs 63.xx because of no tax on newegg and the $5 off. Good enough for me for now.

I'll agree Nintendo 1st party stuff seldom gets price drops, but there will be store specific deals.

I'll wait for those and reviews on this one.

I'm wanting this game badly but have such a huge backlog of games I think I too will hold off for a better deal. Having said this if I did not have 100's of games I've not even touched including 10 Wii U titles I would be getting this game day one for sure. Also another incentive to get it early is the registration on club nintendo gets you a couple of ganondorf costumes if registered before october something. I've been seeing good reviews on this game at 8's and this is before the updates which are fixing some problems and adding new modes so I expect this game to totally be worth the $$$ and adventure mode with the old NES graphics really has me intrigued.
