3DS deal is semi hot since you can bundle it with a game and pretty much get the game "free". A reminder that next year Nintendo is releasing the New 3DS and New 3DS XL (Horrible names). There has been so far one confirmed exclusive game and it will be automatically compatible with amiibos. But still not too bad of a deal on the games themselves if you can get them.

While I know technically nothing about the situation, I predict that the "new 3DS LL/XL" will be even less relevant than the DSi and PSPgo were.

I agree but most people knowing that there's a new version coming out soon may change their minds about buying one this year if there's going to be titles like Xenoblade Chronicles on the go. (Plus the amiibo feature is a bit useful and I can see Nintendo implementing the NFC features into a good amount of first party titles this and next year)

The main differences are the processing power of it (Which can mean other than exclusive titles the New 3DS could be powerful enough to handle GBA emulation at a level that Nintendo would be comfortable with selling). Also instead of SD cards it uses Micro SD.

Oh and a second stick to use on the right side. (Will be used for camera angles in some games like Xenoblade and smash attacks in SSB4.)

All those features don't matter, because the name is so fuck ing terrible that I'm sure half the copies of Xenoblade sold at Walmart will be returned opened and "non-working". Nintendo's stupidity just amazes me.

I don't believe that the New Nintendo 3DS/XL models been officially announced for North America yet. While I have no doubt that they will be, there's that small (slim) chance that the name could be different.

2nd analog has been missing since day zero, but install base of us without one is already too large to incorporate it into every new game that should have it, unless Nintendo wants to officially release a Circle Pad Pro XL in the US for the 99%. (I'd buy one myself if it supported more than 5 games)

SD to Micro: I've been using a micro in an SD adapter just fine this whole time.

GBA: doubtful they'll add the cart slot back that we all want, so it just means we get to digitally rebuy all of the GBA carts that we already own.

Overall, the changes are great for super-late adopters or those who feel it's time for a replacement, kinda like the backlit light in the SP. I bought one of those at a minimal loss by selling my side-lit one before eBayers realized there was something better out there. Funny thing, I think the super-bright backlit as opposed to side-lit was a bigger improvement than a 2nd analog stick ;)

Well so far as I mentioned a few games have been announced to use this (SSB4, Final Fantasy Explorers, and two titles I doubt we'll see here soon if ever, Dragon Quest X: Online, Monster Hunter 4G)

I agree there's going to be a few people bringing back Xenoblade due to the titling of the handheld but not many since it's a bit of a niche title. (Can't see many parents blindly buying it for their kids)

As for SD to micro I agree I have been as well and the price for a card isn't really a deterrent more of a fact I wanted to point out.

With GBA I didn't mean that they'd bring back the slot for it, but moreof the possibility of them bringing emulation of the titles. So yes rebuying any titles ;)

This will be good for late adopters. As for myself I probably won't get one unless a nice LE varient comes out.
