You can preorder the 1st Season of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles that has been on Nickelodeon recently.  They have been releasing the season on seperate DVD's for around $10 a piece but the entire 26 episode season is available for preorder through Walmart or Amazon for $12.96.

I hope that cover art is false. That looks like the individual releases in a new slipcover instead of all the discs in one package.

I've been dying to watch this show (I don't get Nickelodeon) so I may pick this up.

Any word on if we'll see a Blu-Ray release down the road?

I think that's what it is. I remember they did the same thing with Young Justice.
That's not what I mean. I was expecting that when it was announced.

The cover art looks like they took the physical release, case and all, of the individual volumes and shrinkwrapped it together.

Does Amazon have a listing for this set? They tend to PM Walmart.com prices, but I can't find the product page for it on Amazon. :whistle2:k

I haven't seen it but just looking at the animation it looks cheap as fuck. A TI student could whip something like that style up lol.

Got my set today. That's exactly what it is, but the real problem's how cheap the cases are. I peeled the shrinkwrap off to investigate a rattling noise and found that both of the single-disc cases had let their discs pop free to slide around. One had two broken tabs in the disc tray, which accounted for most of the rattling. The rest came from the third case, the two-discer, where the whole tray for disc one had broken off.

To say these aren't collector-friendly would be an understatement. I guess they figure that, since children are their target market, these'll be quickly destroyed no matter how hard they try, so why make an effort?

I don't think I'll get any future sets. A cheap price for a cheap set isn't bad, but I'd rather pay more for a proper edition.

Can you confirm that some of these are NOT in widescreen like the back of set lists? Which discs? Any info appreciated. Thanks.

The set collects the previously released Rise of the Turtles, Enter the Shredder and Ultimate Showdown. The cases and discs claim the first two are fullscreen, while only the two-disc Ultimate Showdown is widescreen, but they're all in the same format: widescreen. Same as when they aired.

Don't know why anything's labeled "fullscreen," unless I missed some development and it now takes advanced technical knowledge to tell the difference between aspect ratios. Rectangular video, black bars at the top and bottom, every episode exactly the same. If that's not widescreen, I don't know what is. If it is, then Paramount doesn't.

Thank you for the clarification. If they had indeed been full frame, I would have passed it up in hopes of a re-release. Must have been a mistake they missed during production and never corrected.
