Is Uncharted remastered needed?

If it's a bundle, then I would be for it but if it's just individual Remasters for $50, then no thanks.

TLoU:R wasn't all that impressive, and that was arguably one of my favorite games of the last generation. I mean, PS2 games being re-rendered to HD resolutions was a easy/noticeable jump in visuals. But going from 720p to 1080p is nowhere near as impressive, even with 60fps.

Yes it is.

If LOU was remastered, we should have at the very least UC3

I know at least 10 friends on PSN that would buy it without question, and most UC3 fans are die hard....plus a naughty dog exclusive of perhaps their best game on ps3, man, I was hoping they would, and im glad you asked, maybe thisll give em a push

how been enuf, hows schector, lord vydean, and the rest? you guys make the swtich from KZ to Destiny yet? Or still  playing KZ? I stopped playing with you guys cuz I didn't play kz much, but I sold the ghosts and bf4, so I have kz and destiny now, so if ur on, lemme know

later

LOU:R wasn't good to you? You're right the upscale from ps3 to ps4 wont be as significant nearly at all to the ps3 remasters, but what didn't impress you? I felt the textures, detail, color, and general scope of all over graphical display and intricacy was greatly ehnhanced, but I think they did fall a little on the controls

BTW, I don't think a full UC 1-3 is necessary. I think they should only do UC3 w/mp and integrate it with ps3 servers, and then have a truncated/mini story only for UC 1 and 2. So no MP for those, and also significant cuts in missions available, so its more for reference playthrough. in other words, people get all the cut scenes , which should be remade and extended, so if theres like 20 chapters in UC2 lets say, make it a 10 chapter game, cutting the amount of gameplay/time in half, and extend the cutscenes to explain more of whats going on, so we get less time to waste on UC 1 and though I think UC2's campaign was funner than UC3, too long to do on one disc.

So yeah, Id either leave 1 and 2 out, and just do 3 since it was most recent and best....OR do a compressed 1 and 2, a full 3 w/MP integrated into current ps3 servers, yes!!!!

Im looking forward to UC3 remsaster big time, talked about it all week cuzza LOU

Remember, there are a millions of PS4 owners who didn't own a PS3. Remastering the PS3's "best of" exclusives not only has a good chance at being bought by them, it might be one of the reasons some of them are switching to Playstation this generation. The Last of Us Remastered was one of the main reasons I switched from Xbox, and it's the reason why I bought a new gen console this early. Otherwise my backlog would have had me hold off another year.

And not only will an Uncharted remaster sell well with people who didn't own a PS3, it will probably help them buy Uncharted 4. I'm a bit hesitant to buy Uncharted 4 because I haven't played the previous Uncharted games. I don't think not releasing an Uncharted remaster would seriously hurt Uncharted 4 sales with people who never played the series, but it will help us get more excited for Uncharted 4.

So an Uncharted remaster might be needed because it can help Uncharted 4 be more successful. It might even sell more consoles. Maybe there are Xbox 360 owners who are as interested in the Uncharted series as I was in The Last of Us, and it will get them to switch.

It's exactly as I said before (and to which you agree): there just isn't a substnatial improvement in visual. Yes, it looks better, but not enough to impress me.

I get that the Uncharted/LoU engine was built to take every possible bit of the PS3's processing power and that they simply couldn't port that engine (and hence, the game) to the PS4 as they're two different architectures. But ND has said that they're going to continue using that same engine on the PS4... and look at how good Uncharted 4 looks.

I feel like this was more of a rush job encouraged by Sony to give the PS4 something for the summer. However, if ND did remaster Uncharted, it would probably be a lot more worthwhile since they'll have a better engine/more experience on the PS4.

I'd kill for the Uncharted PS3 Trilogy: Remastered.
As long as they do the trilogy for $40-$50 with all the DLC cool but if they attempt to milk three $40-$50 single shots that`s going to far. I`d be all over a $100-$150 trilogy LE if the swag was nice. They could even throw in a promo that discounts UC4.

I don't really see a need for such a game however since U4 is coming out and there will be new users to the PS brand not joining in the PS3 era they would feel alienated so I can see a need but for me personally who has played all 3 no.

[quote name="Enuf" post="12090467" timestamp="1410595841"]I`m not anti-remasters but a Uncharted remaster seems to be a bit much. If they`re going that route just remaster UC 1-3 as collection, then bundle an LE collection w/UC4. Otherwise, they might attempt to follow with UC2:R & 10 months later UC3:R.

Whether or not it's needed doesn't matter. Whether or not it will sell is all that matters. Yes, it will sell and if we don't like the idea we can just pass. The remastered games will continue as long as there is a market...

If they attempt to re-re-re-release in the wrong way that market will dry up faster. Over saturation will kill even the best franchise.

I don't think there's anything they could do wrong here... I think it's pretty much given that Uncharted 4 is gonna sell like crazy, but there's a good population of people who will not have played 1-3, so re-releasing the games makes sense.

I do agree though that paying $50 for each game would probably kill sales but obviously, that didn't hurt with LoU (though LoU had a fairly beefy SP and a great MP mode, so it was probably justifiable).

Sony's probably learned enough about releasing games in the last gen to know what works and what doesn't.

Having many Uncharted games on the market isn't going to turn me off from the series, not as long as the fames are good. Series die due to a drop off in quality or innovation or both depending on the particular game.

Me, I'm not really in to remastered titles so I don't care but there are many who do and I could see this selling really well. Me, personally, I'd much rather see remastered from the PS1 ewa. The RPGs from back then we're rich in story and with a new coat of paint and updated controls there is a lot of money to be made.

back to Naughtydog for a second though. I think it would be great to see Crash Bandicoot remastered.

TLOU is still a "new" franchise and there`s never been a trilogy already released. Since a Trilogy remaster would set up UC4 that would be for the best. My fear would be each title released at $50, then the trilogy @ $40 followed by a new 1-4 when the UC4 GOTY/complete is ready that`s pure money grab overkill. We don`t have to buy it of course and I`d buy the trilogy again probably a 1-4 if the price/promo was right but never the singles.

It's one of Sonys flagships series, and with most people who got a PS4 never owned a PS3 it would make sense getting them into Uncharted before U4 comes out.

I think remasters should be done on occasion, not as fast as they've been doing so already. I wouldn't mind an Uncharted series remaster, but lets try not to push one at a time, put it in a collection and charge a fair price for it.

The Remasters so far have all been of newer, quality games, so as long as they don't start trying to push Two Worlds: Remastered, I'm good with pretty much any re-release.

I`m cool with $60 for the collection with all the DLC, I won`t pay $60 though that`s not the CAG way lol. It`ll he $40 or less in no time or cheaper via deal.

No remaster game is ever really needed. If you think it isnt then dont buy it, it really is that easy. A lot of people will buy it though but why would you care what they want or dont want? It doesnt effect you at all.

Personally, I'd like to see FFVII remastered. I mean Capcom has done so much with its old library, why the crap can't Square?

That`s not true at all older games should be remade since there`s a large new potential customer base that either was too young or not alive at all to play them when they were 1st out. I`m 34 and grew up on games that my cousins don`t even truly believe were "that big or that special". Major franchises like Tomb Raider, MK, SF, FF, MGS & RE they don`t understand that at one point these sold major units but all they see is outdated graphics.

But there`s certainly a fine line that affects all game rs b/c if companies funnel too much money/resources in old games then the newer installments take longer to come out. With the current cost structure of games 1-2 flops could kill then entire franchise.

Uncharted's graphics are outdated to the point of it being unplayable, so yes.

Square can't afford anything at the moment. I expect them to close down shop once sleeping dogs come out and once ffxv is about 90 percent complete.

If it's released as a complete trilogy at an appropriate price I'd definitely buy it.  UC1 feels so awkward to go back to after UC2 and 3 because the controls just weren't quite as smooth in some way, and it has a few other issues. I didn't notice it at the time, but I tried to go back and play it again in 2013 and it just wasn't happening, haha.  So that alone would be a worthwhile addition.  Upgraded visuals and having UC Multiplayer on PS4 would be icing.

I'd love an Uncharted Collection with them maybe throwing in a Remastered Golden Abyss as well. Uncharted 2 multiplayer rocked my socks back in the day (Before they patched the crap out of it).

I have to agree. As a trilogy its worth it. But for what you are actually getting graphics wise I am not sure I would buy individuals especially since I have the last two free on my ps3 with plus still. Though I will say it would be nice to play on the new Dualshock. I love that thing.

I loved Uncharted 1 and 2 but haven't gotten around to playing 3 yet.

I'm also looking forward to picking up a Vita so I can play Golden Abyss.

If they remastered 1-3 and put them in a collection I'd be down to buy them.

As it is the only thing holding me back from playing 3 is that I don't want to plug in my PS3

I actually just recently finished Golden Abyss and Uncharted 1 for the first time. Both good games. I have now sold or listed my PS3 games including all the Uncharted games. I hope they they release a Remaster they change up the trophies as most are pretty annoying across 1-3 and Golden Abyss.
