Destiny expansion pass purchase

I was told by a BBY rep that the expansion pass is on sale now and that later they will sell separately at a higher price

He said right now if you (pre) order the pass as the first release isn't at least till Christmas you basically get 2 for 1 , or buy expansion pass for I and ii is free

Is there any truth to this or will it be like a season pass, same $35 across board

I have no idea what he was trying to say, but the expansion pass is like a season pass. It will give you expansions I + II for a slightly lower price than it would cost buying both of those separate. You aren't paying for Ex.1 and getting Ex.2 for free, you're paying discounted prices for both of them.

I seen it in the PSN store for 35 dollars for the pass. And it looked like one of the expansions were 19.99. So i am assuming by buying the season pass you pay 35, if you buy both packs alone it would cost 40.

I asked if he meant it's sale as in a season pass where as you said it's both pieces discounted

But he insisted on his version of the explanation so I assumed he knew something I didn't

Yeah they usually say a bunch of things that sound appealing so they can make a sale, it's just their job. Gotta ask around before falling for retail employees' tricks.

edit: It's not really a trick since it's a completely legitimate deal, it's just not a "buy ex1, get ex2 free" kind of deal.
